Chapter 14
The Lamb and the 144,000

Then I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him 144,000 {}… who had His name and His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
Καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ Ἀρνίον ἑστὸς ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος Σιών καὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες ἔχουσαι αὐτοῦ τὸ ὄνομα καὶ τοῦ αὐτοῦ Πατρὸς τὸ ὄνομα γεγραμμένον ἐπὶ αὐτῶν τῶν μετώπων Kai eidon kai idou to Arnion hestos epi to oros Siōn kai met’ autou hekaton tesserakonta tessares chiliades echousai autou to onoma kai tou autou Patros to onoma gegrammenon epi autōn tōn metōpōn — NA/TR · 1

And I heard a sound from heaven like [the] roar of many waters and [the] loud rumbling of thunder. And the sound I heard [was] like harpists strumming their harps.
καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὡς φωνὴν πολλῶν ὑδάτων καὶ ὡς μεγάλης φωνὴν βροντῆς καὶ ἡ φωνὴ ἣν ἤκουσα ὡς κιθαρῳδῶν κιθαριζόντων ἐν αὐτῶν ταῖς κιθάραις kai ēkousa phōnēn ek tou ouranou hōs phōnēn pollōn hydatōn kai hōs megalēs phōnēn brontēs kai hē phōnē hēn ēkousa hōs kitharōdōn kitharizontōn en autōn tais kitharais — NA/TR · 2

And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one could learn the song except… the 144,000 {}… who had been redeemed from the earth.
Καὶ ᾄδουσιν ὡς καινὴν ᾠδὴν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου καὶ ἐνώπιον τῶν τεσσάρων ζῴων καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο μαθεῖν τὴν ᾠδὴν εἰ μὴ αἱ ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες οἱ ἠγορασμένοι ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Kai adousin hōs kainēn ōdēn enōpion tou thronou kai enōpion tōn tessarōn zōōn kai tōn presbyterōn kai oudeis edynato mathein tēn ōdēn ei mē hai hekaton tesserakonta tessares chiliades hoi ēgorasmenoi apo tēs gēs — NA/TR · 3

These are the ones who vvv have not been defiled with women, for they are virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever vvv He goes. They have been redeemed from among men [as] firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.
οὗτοί εἰσιν οἳ οὐκ ἐμολύνθησαν μετὰ γυναικῶν γάρ εἰσιν παρθένοι οὗτοι οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες τῷ Ἀρνίῳ ὅπου ἂν ὑπάγῃ οὗτοι ἠγοράσθησαν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀπαρχὴ τῷ Θεῷ καὶ τῷ Ἀρνίῳ houtoi eisin hoi ouk emolynthēsan meta gynaikōn gar eisin parthenoi houtoi hoi akolouthountes tō Arniō hopou an hypagē houtoi ēgorasthēsan apo tōn anthrōpōn aparchē tō Theō kai tō Arniō — NA/TR · 4

And no lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

The Three Angels and Babylon’s Fall

Then I saw another angel flying vvv overhead, with [the] eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth— to every nation and tribe and tongue and people.
Καὶ εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον πετόμενον ἐν μεσουρανήματι ἔχοντα αἰώνιον εὐαγγέλιον εὐαγγελίσαι ἐπὶ τοὺς καθημένους ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶν ἔθνος καὶ φυλὴν καὶ γλῶσσαν καὶ λαόν Kai eidon allon angelon petomenon en mesouranēmati echonta aiōnion euangelion euangelisai epi tous kathēmenous epi tēs gēs kai epi pan ethnos kai phylēn kai glōssan kai laon — NA/TR · 6

[And] he said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the [One who] made the heavens and the earth and [the] sea and [the] springs of waters.

Then a second angel followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who {has made} all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality.
Καὶ ἄλλος δεύτερος ἄγγελος ἠκολούθησεν λέγων Ἔπεσεν ἔπεσεν Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη ἣ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη πεπότικεν ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου τοῦ θυμοῦ τῆς αὐτῆς πορνείας Kai allos deuteros angelos ēkolouthēsen legōn Epesen epesen Babylōn hē megalē hē panta ta ethnē pepotiken ek tou oinou tou thymou tēs autēs porneias — NA/TR · 8

And vvv a third angel followed them, calling out in a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives [its] mark on his forehead or on his hand,
Καὶ ἄλλος τρίτος ἄγγελος ἠκολούθησεν αὐτοῖς λέγων ἐν μεγάλῃ φωνῇ Εἴ τις προσκυνεῖ τὸ θηρίον καὶ αὐτοῦ τὴν εἰκόνα καὶ λαμβάνει χάραγμα ἐπὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ μετώπου ἢ ἐπὶ αὐτοῦ τὴν χεῖρα Kai allos tritos angelos ēkolouthēsen autois legōn en megalē phōnē Ei tis proskynei to thērion kai autou tēn eikona kai lambanei charagma epi autou tou metōpou ē epi autou tēn cheira — NA/TR · 9

he too will drink the wine of God’s anger, poured undiluted into the cup of His wrath. And he will be tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of [the] holy angels and of the Lamb.
αὐτὸς καὶ πίεται ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ θυμοῦ τοῦ κεκερασμένου ἀκράτου ἐν τῷ ποτηρίῳ τῆς αὐτοῦ ὀργῆς καὶ βασανισθήσεται ἐν πυρὶ καὶ θείῳ ἐνώπιον ἁγίων ἀγγέλων καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ Ἀρνίου autos kai pietai ek tou oinou tou Theou tou thymou tou kekerasmenou akratou en tō potēriō tēs autou orgēs kai basanisthēsetai en pyri kai theiō enōpion hagiōn angelōn kai enōpion tou Arniou — NA/TR · 10

And the smoke of their torment rises vvv forever [and] ever. Day and night [there is] no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, [or] [for] anyone who receives the mark of its name.
καὶ ὁ καπνὸς τοῦ αὐτῶν βασανισμοῦ ἀναβαίνει εἰς αἰῶνας αἰώνων καὶ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός ἔχουσιν οὐκ ἀνάπαυσιν οἱ προσκυνοῦντες τὸ θηρίον καὶ αὐτοῦ τὴν εἰκόνα καὶ εἴ τις λαμβάνει τὸ χάραγμα αὐτοῦ τοῦ ὀνόματος kai ho kapnos tou autōn basanismou anabainei eis aiōnas aiōnōn kai hēmeras kai nyktos echousin ouk anapausin hoi proskynountes to thērion kai autou tēn eikona kai ei tis lambanei to charagma autou tou onomatos — NA/TR · 11

Here is [a call for] the perseverance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Ὧδε ἐστίν ἡ ὑπομονὴ τῶν ἁγίων οἱ τηροῦντες τὰς ἐντολὰς τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ τὴν πίστιν Ἰησοῦ Hōde estin hē hypomonē tōn hagiōn hoi tērountes tas entolas tou Theou kai tēn pistin Iēsou — NA/TR · 12

And I heard a voice from heaven telling [me] to write, “Blessed [are] the dead— those who die in [the] Lord from this moment on. “Yes, says the Spirit, “- they will rest from their labors, for their deeds will follow them.

The Harvest of the Earth

And I looked and saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud [was One] like [the] Son of Man, with a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.
Καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ λευκή νεφέλη καὶ καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὴν νεφέλην ὅμοιον υἱὸν ἀνθρώπου ἔχων χρυσοῦν στέφανον ἐπὶ αὐτοῦ τῆς κεφαλῆς καὶ ὀξύ δρέπανον ἐν αὐτοῦ τῇ χειρὶ Kai eidon kai idou leukē nephelē kai kathēmenon epi tēn nephelēn homoion huion anthrōpou echōn chrysoun stephanon epi autou tēs kephalēs kai oxy drepanon en autou tē cheiri — NA/TR · 14

Then another angel came out of the temple, crying out in a loud voice to the [One] seated on the cloud, “Swing Your sickle and reap, because the time has come to harvest, for the crop of the earth is ripe.
Καὶ ἄλλος ἄγγελος ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ ναοῦ κράζων ἐν μεγάλῃ φωνῇ τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῆς νεφέλης Πέμψον σου τὸ δρέπανόν καὶ θέρισον ὅτι ἡ ὥρα ἦλθεν θερίσαι ὅτι ὁ θερισμὸς τῆς γῆς ἐξηράνθη Kai allos angelos exēlthen ek tou naou krazōn en megalē phōnē tō kathēmenō epi tēs nephelēs Pempson sou to drepanon kai therison hoti hē hōra ēlthen therisai hoti ho therismos tēs gēs exēranthē — NA/TR · 15

[So] the [One] seated on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τῆς νεφέλης ἔβαλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ δρέπανον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐθερίσθη kai ho kathēmenos epi tēs nephelēs ebalen autou to drepanon epi tēn gēn kai hē gē etheristhē — NA/TR · 16

Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he [too] had a sharp sickle.
Καὶ ἄλλος ἄγγελος ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ ναοῦ τοῦ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔχων ὀξύ δρέπανον Kai allos angelos exēlthen ek tou naou tou en tō ouranō kai autos echōn oxy drepanon — NA/TR · 17

[Still] another angel, with authority over the fire, came from the altar and called out in a loud voice to the [angel] with the sharp sickle -, “Swing your sharp sickle and gather the clusters [of grapes] from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are ripe.
Καὶ ἄλλος ἄγγελος ὁ ἔχων ἐξουσίαν ἐπὶ τοῦ πυρός ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ ἐφώνησεν μεγάλῃ φωνῇ τῷ ἔχοντι τὸ τὸ ὀξὺ δρέπανον λέγων Πέμψον σου τὸ ὀξὺ τὸ δρέπανον καὶ τρύγησον τοὺς βότρυας τῆς ἀμπέλου τῆς γῆς ὅτι αὐτῆς αἱ σταφυλαὶ ἤκμασαν Kai allos angelos ho echōn exousian epi tou pyros exēlthen ek tou thysiastēriou kai ephōnēsen megalē phōnē tō echonti to to oxy drepanon legōn Pempson sou to oxy to drepanon kai trygēson tous botryas tēs ampelou tēs gēs hoti autēs hai staphylai ēkmasan — NA/TR · 18

[So] the angel swung his sickle over the earth and gathered the [grapes] of the earth, and he threw [them] into the great winepress of God’s wrath.
Καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος ἔβαλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ δρέπανον εἰς τὴν γῆν καὶ ἐτρύγησεν τὴν ἄμπελον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἔβαλεν εἰς τὸν μέγαν τὴν ληνὸν τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ θυμοῦ Kai ho angelos ebalen autou to drepanon eis tēn gēn kai etrygēsen tēn ampelon tēs gēs kai ebalen eis ton megan tēn lēnon tou Theou tou thymou — NA/TR · 19

And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and [the] blood [that] flowed from vvv [it] [rose] as high as the bridles of the horses for a distance of 1,600 {}… stadia.
καὶ ἡ ληνὸς ἐπατήθη ἔξωθεν τῆς πόλεως καὶ αἷμα ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ τῆς ληνοῦ ἄχρι τῶν χαλινῶν τῶν ἵππων ἀπὸ χιλίων ἑξακοσίων σταδίων kai hē lēnos epatēthē exōthen tēs poleōs kai haima exēlthen ek tēs lēnou achri tōn chalinōn tōn hippōn apo chiliōn hexakosiōn stadiōn — NA/TR · 20
