Chapter 14
The Destroyers of Jerusalem Destroyed

Behold, a day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided in your presence.
𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤁𐤀 𐤔𐤋𐤋𐤊 𐤅𐤇𐤋𐤒 𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤊
הִנֵּ֥ה יֽוֹם־ לַֽיהוָ֑ה בָּ֖א שְׁלָלֵ֖ךְ וְחֻלַּ֥ק בְּקִרְבֵּֽךְ׃ hin·nêh yō·wm- Yah·weh bā šə·lā·lêḵ wə·ḥul·laq bə·qir·bêḵ — WLC · 1

For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.

וְאָסַפְתִּ֨י אֶת־ כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִ֥ם׀ לַמִּלְחָמָה֒ אֶֽל־ יְרוּשָׁלִַם֮ הָעִ֗יר וְנִלְכְּדָ֣ה הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים וְנָשַׁ֙סּוּ֙ וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים תִּשָּׁגַלְנָה חֲצִ֤י הָעִיר֙ וְיָצָ֞א בַּגּוֹלָ֔ה וְיֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם לֹ֥א יִכָּרֵ֖ת מִן־ הָעִֽיר׃ wə·’ā·sap̄·tî ’eṯ- kāl- hag·gō·w·yim lam·mil·ḥā·māh ’el- yə·rū·šā·lim hā·‘îr wə·nil·kə·ḏāh hab·bāt·tîm wə·nā·šas·sū wə·han·nā·šîm tiš·šå̄·ḡal·nå̄h ḥă·ṣî hā·‘îr wə·yā·ṣā bag·gō·w·lāh wə·ye·ṯer hā·‘ām lō yik·kā·rêṯ min- hā·‘îr — WLC · 2

Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as He fights in the day… of battle.

יְהוָ֔ה וְיָצָ֣א וְנִלְחַ֖ם הָהֵ֑ם בַּגּוֹיִ֣ם הִֽלָּחֲמ֖ו בְּי֥וֹם כְּי֥וֹם קְרָֽב׃ Yah·weh wə·yā·ṣā wə·nil·ḥam hā·hêm bag·gō·w·yim hil·lå̄·ḥă·mw bə·yō·wm kə·yō·wm qə·rāḇ — WLC · 3

On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, - east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great… valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.

הַ֠הוּא בַּיּוֹם־ רַגְלָ֣יו וְעָמְד֣וּ עַל־ הַ֨ר הַזֵּתִ֜ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י מִקֶּדֶם֒ יְרוּשָׁלִַם֮ הַ֨ר הַזֵּיתִ֤ים וְנִבְקַע֩ מֵֽחֶצְיוֹ֙ מִזְרָ֣חָה וָיָ֔מָּה גְּדוֹלָ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד גֵּ֖יא חֲצִ֥י הָהָ֛ר וּמָ֨שׁ צָפ֖וֹנָה וְחֶצְיוֹ־ נֶֽגְבָּה׃ ha·hū bay·yō·wm- raḡ·lāw wə·‘ā·mə·ḏū ‘al- har haz·zē·ṯīm ’ă·šer ‘al- pə·nê miq·qe·ḏem yə·rū·šā·lim har haz·zê·ṯîm wə·niḇ·qa‘ mê·ḥeṣ·yōw miz·rā·ḥāh wā·yām·māh gə·ḏō·w·lāh mə·’ōḏ gê ḥă·ṣî hā·hār ū·māš ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh wə·ḥeṣ·yōw- neḡ·bāh — WLC · 4

You will flee by My mountain valley, for [it]… will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.

וְנַסְתֶּ֣ם הָרַ֗י גֵּֽיא־ כִּֽי־ גֵּי־ הָרִים֮ יַגִּ֣יעַ אֶל־ אָצַל֒ וְנַסְתֶּ֗ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר נַסְתֶּם֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָרַ֔עַשׁ בִּימֵ֖י עֻזִּיָּ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־ יְהוּדָ֑ה יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֔י וּבָא֙ כָּל־ קְדֹשִׁ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃ wə·nas·tem hā·ray gê- kî- gê- hā·rîm yag·gî·a‘ ’el- ’ā·ṣal wə·nas·tem ka·’ă·šer nas·tem mip·pə·nê hā·ra·‘aš bî·mê ‘uz·zî·yāh me·leḵ- yə·hū·ḏāh Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hay ū·ḇā kāl- qə·ḏō·šîm ‘im·māḵ — WLC · 5

- On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost.

וְהָיָ֖ה הַה֑וּא בַּיּ֣וֹם יִהְיֶ֣ה לֹֽא־ א֔וֹר יְקָר֖וֹת יִקְפְּאוּן׃ wə·hā·yāh ha·hū bay·yō·wm yih·yeh lō- ’ō·wr yə·qā·rō·wṯ yiq·pə·ʾūn — WLC · 6

It will be a unique day known only… to the LORD, without day… or night; but when evening comes, there will be… light.
𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤅𐤃𐤏 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄 𐤏𐤓𐤁 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤏𐤕 𐤀𐤅𐤓
וְהָיָ֣ה יוֹם־ יִוָּדַ֥ע אֶחָ֗ד ה֛וּא לַֽיהוָ֖ה לֹא־ י֣וֹם וְלֹא־ לָ֑יְלָה עֶ֖רֶב יִֽהְיֶה־ וְהָיָ֥ה לְעֵֽת־ אֽוֹר׃ wə·hā·yāh yō·wm- yiw·wā·ḏa‘ ’e·ḥāḏ hū Yah·weh lō- yō·wm wə·lō- lā·yə·lāh ‘e·reḇ yih·yeh- wə·hā·yāh lə·‘êṯ- ’ō·wr — WLC · 7

And on that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the Eastern Sea and the other half toward the Western Sea, in summer and winter alike…
𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤌 𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤅 𐤌𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤇𐤑𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤒𐤃𐤌𐤅𐤍𐤉 𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤇𐤑𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤍 𐤄𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤒𐤉𐤑 𐤅𐤁𐤇𐤓𐤐 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄
וְהָיָ֣ה׀ הַה֗וּא בַּיּ֣וֹם חַיִּים֙ מַֽיִם־ יֵצְא֤וּ מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם חֶצְיָ֗ם אֶל־ הַקַּדְמוֹנִ֔י הַיָּם֙ וְחֶצְיָ֖ם אֶל־ הָאַחֲר֑וֹן הַיָּ֣ם בַּקַּ֥יִץ וּבָחֹ֖רֶף יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ wə·hā·yāh ha·hū bay·yō·wm ḥay·yîm ma·yim- yê·ṣə·’ū mî·rū·šā·lim ḥeṣ·yām ’el- haq·qaḏ·mō·w·nî hay·yām wə·ḥeṣ·yām ’el- hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn hay·yām baq·qa·yiṣ ū·ḇā·ḥō·rep̄ yih·yeh — WLC · 8

On that… day the LORD will become King over all the earth— the LORD alone, and His name alone.
𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤏𐤋 𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤅 𐤀𐤇𐤃
הַה֗וּא יִהְיֶ֧ה בַּיּ֣וֹם יְהוָ֛ה וְהָיָ֧ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־ כָּל־ הָאָ֑רֶץ יְהוָ֛ה אֶחָ֖ד וּשְׁמ֥וֹ אֶחָֽד׃ ha·hū yih·yeh bay·yō·wm Yah·weh wə·hā·yāh lə·me·leḵ ‘al- kāl- hā·’ā·reṣ Yah·weh ’e·ḥāḏ ū·šə·mōw ’e·ḥāḏ — WLC · 9

All the land from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be turned into a plain, but Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain in her place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤌𐤂𐤁𐤏 𐤋𐤓𐤌𐤅𐤍 𐤍𐤂𐤁 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤉𐤎𐤅𐤁 𐤊𐤏𐤓𐤁𐤄 𐤅𐤓𐤀𐤌𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤄 𐤕𐤇𐤕𐤉𐤄 𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌𐤍 𐤋𐤌𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤏𐤃 𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅𐤍 𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤏𐤃 𐤄𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤅𐤌𐤂𐤃𐤋 𐤇𐤍𐤍𐤀𐤋 𐤏𐤃 𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤉𐤒𐤁𐤉
כָּל־ הָאָ֤רֶץ מִגֶּ֣בַע לְרִמּ֔וֹן נֶ֖גֶב יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם יִסּ֨וֹב כָּעֲרָבָה֙ וְֽרָאֲמָה֩ וְיָשְׁבָ֨ה תַחְתֶּ֜יהָ בִּנְיָמִ֗ן לְמִשַּׁ֣עַר עַד־ מְק֞וֹם הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ שַׁ֤עַר עַד־ הַפִּנִּ֔ים שַׁ֣עַר וּמִגְדַּ֣ל חֲנַנְאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ יִקְבֵ֥י kāl- hā·’ā·reṣ mig·ge·ḇa‘ lə·rim·mō·wn ne·ḡeḇ yə·rū·šā·lim yis·sō·wḇ kā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh wə·rā·’ă·māh wə·yā·šə·ḇāh ṯaḥ·te·hā bin·yā·min lə·miš·ša·‘ar ‘aḏ- mə·qō·wm hā·ri·šō·wn ša·‘ar ‘aḏ- hap·pin·nîm ša·‘ar ū·miḡ·dal ḥă·nan·’êl ‘aḏ ham·me·leḵ yiq·ḇê — WLC · 10

People will live there, and never again will there be an [utter] destruction. So Jerusalem will dwell securely.
𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤅 𐤁𐤄 𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤅𐤃 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤇𐤓𐤌 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤄 𐤋𐤁𐤈𐤇
וְיָ֣שְׁבוּ בָ֔הּ לֹ֣א ע֑וֹד יִֽהְיֶה־ וְחֵ֖רֶם יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם וְיָשְׁבָ֥ה לָבֶֽטַח׃ wə·yā·šə·ḇū ḇāh lō ‘ō·wḏ yih·yeh- wə·ḥê·rem yə·rū·šā·lim wə·yā·šə·ḇāh lā·ḇe·ṭaḥ — WLC · 11

And this will be the plague with which the LORD strikes all the peoples who have warred against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.

וְזֹ֣את׀ תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה הַמַּגֵּפָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ יִגֹּ֤ף כָּל־ הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר צָבְא֖וּ עַל־ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם בְּשָׂר֗וֹ הָמֵ֣ק׀ וְהוּא֙ עֹמֵ֣ד עַל־ רַגְלָ֔יו וְעֵינָיו֙ תִּמַּ֣קְנָה בְחֹֽרֵיהֶ֔ן וּלְשׁוֹנ֖וֹ תִּמַּ֥ק בְּפִיהֶֽם׃ wə·zōṯ tih·yeh ham·mag·gê·p̄āh ’ă·šer Yah·weh ’eṯ- yig·gōp̄ kāl- hā·‘am·mîm ’ă·šer ṣā·ḇə·’ū ‘al- yə·rū·šā·lim bə·śā·rōw hā·mêq wə·hū ‘ō·mêḏ ‘al- raḡ·lāw wə·‘ê·nāw tim·maq·nāh ḇə·ḥō·rê·hen ū·lə·šō·w·nōw tim·maq bə·p̄î·hem — WLC · 12

On that… day a great panic from the LORD will come upon them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one will rise against… the other.

הַה֔וּא תִּֽהְיֶ֧ה בַּיּ֣וֹם רַבָּ֖ה מְהֽוּמַת־ יְהוָ֛ה וְהָיָה֙ בָּהֶ֑ם אִ֚ישׁ וְהֶחֱזִ֗יקוּ יַ֣ד רֵעֵ֔הוּ יָד֖וֹ וְעָלְתָ֥ה עַל־ יַ֥ד רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ ha·hū tih·yeh bay·yō·wm rab·bāh mə·hū·maṯ- Yah·weh wə·hā·yāh bā·hem ’îš wə·he·ḥĕ·zî·qū yaḏ rê·‘ê·hū yā·ḏōw wə·‘ā·lə·ṯāh ‘al- yaḏ rê·‘ê·hū — WLC · 13

Judah will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected— gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance…
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤄 𐤅𐤂𐤌 𐤕𐤋𐤇𐤌 𐤁𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤇𐤉𐤋 𐤊𐤋 𐤎𐤁𐤉𐤁 𐤄𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤎𐤐 𐤆𐤄𐤁 𐤅𐤊𐤎𐤐 𐤅𐤁𐤂𐤃𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤓𐤁 𐤌𐤀𐤃
יְהוּדָ֔ה וְגַ֨ם־ תִּלָּחֵ֖ם בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם חֵ֨יל כָּל־ סָבִ֗יב הַגּוֹיִ֜ם וְאֻסַּף֩ זָהָ֥ב וָכֶ֛סֶף וּבְגָדִ֖ים לָרֹ֥ב מְאֹֽד׃ yə·hū·ḏāh wə·ḡam- til·lā·ḥêm bî·rū·šā·lim ḥêl kāl- sā·ḇîḇ hag·gō·w·yim wə·’us·sap̄ zā·hāḇ wā·ḵe·sep̄ ū·ḇə·ḡā·ḏîm lā·rōḇ mə·’ōḏ — WLC · 14

And a similar plague will strike the horses and mules, camels and donkeys, and all the animals - in those camps. -
𐤅𐤊𐤍 𐤌𐤂𐤐𐤕 𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤄𐤎𐤅𐤎 𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤃 𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋 𐤅𐤄𐤇𐤌𐤅𐤓 𐤅𐤊𐤋 𐤄𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤄𐤄𐤌𐤄 𐤁𐤌𐤇𐤍𐤅𐤕 𐤊𐤌𐤂𐤐𐤄 𐤄𐤆𐤀𐤕
וְכֵ֨ן מַגֵּפַ֣ת תִּֽהְיֶ֜ה הַסּ֗וּס הַפֶּ֙רֶד֙ הַגָּמָ֣ל וְהַחֲמ֔וֹר וְכָ֨ל־ הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה הָהֵ֑מָּה בַּמַּחֲנ֣וֹת כַּמַּגֵּפָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃ wə·ḵên mag·gê·p̄aṯ tih·yeh has·sūs hap·pe·reḏ hag·gā·māl wə·ha·ḥă·mō·wr wə·ḵāl hab·bə·hê·māh ’ă·šer yih·yeh hā·hêm·māh bam·ma·ḥă·nō·wṯ kam·mag·gê·p̄āh haz·zōṯ — WLC · 15
All Nations Will Worship the King

- Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up… year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

And should any of the families of the earth not go up… to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, then the rain will not fall on them.

And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, [then the rain] will not fall on them; this will be the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

This will be the punishment of Egypt… and of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

On that day, HOLY TO THE LORD will be [inscribed] on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the house of the LORD will be like the sprinkling bowls before the altar.

Indeed, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take some [pots] and cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
