Chapter 10

Daniel’s Vision by the Tigris

1

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was called… Belteshazzar. The message was true, and it concerned a great conflict. And the understanding of the message was given to him in a vision.

𐤔𐤋𐤅𐤔 𐤁𐤔𐤍𐤕 𐤋𐤊𐤅𐤓𐤔 𐤌𐤋𐤊 𐤐𐤓𐤎 𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤍𐤂𐤋𐤄 𐤋𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤀𐤋 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤍𐤒𐤓𐤀 𐤔𐤌𐤅 𐤁𐤋𐤈𐤔𐤀𐤑𐤓 𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤕 𐤂𐤃𐤅𐤋 𐤅𐤑𐤁𐤀 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤍𐤄 𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤍 𐤀𐤕 𐤋𐤅 𐤁𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄

שָׁל֗וֹשׁ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת לְכ֙וֹרֶשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס דָּבָר֙ נִגְלָ֣ה לְדָֽנִיֵּ֔אל אֲשֶׁר־ נִקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑ר הַדָּבָר֙ וֶאֱמֶ֤ת גָד֔וֹל וְצָבָ֣א וּבִ֥ינָה הַדָּבָ֔ר וּבִין֙ אֶת־ ל֖וֹ בַּמַּרְאֶֽה׃ šā·lō·wōš biš·naṯ lə·ḵō·w·reš me·leḵ pā·ras dā·ḇār niḡ·lāh lə·ḏā·nî·yêl ’ă·šer- niq·rā šə·mōw bê·lə·ṭə·šaṣ·ṣar had·dā·ḇār we·’ĕ·meṯ ḡā·ḏō·wl wə·ṣā·ḇā ū·ḇî·nāh had·dā·ḇār ū·ḇîn ’eṯ- lōw bam·mar·’ehWLC · 1

In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three full weeks.

𐤄𐤄𐤌 𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤉𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤌𐤕𐤀𐤁𐤋 𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤄 𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤌

הָהֵ֑ם בַּיָּמִ֖ים אֲנִ֤י דָֽנִיֵּאל֙ הָיִ֣יתִי מִתְאַבֵּ֔ל שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה יָמִֽים׃ שָׁבֻעִ֖ים hā·hêm bay·yā·mîm ’ă·nî ḏā·nî·yêl hā·yî·ṯî miṯ·’ab·bêl šə·lō·šāh yā·mîm šā·ḇu·‘îmWLC · 2

I ate no rich food, no meat or wine entered… my mouth, and I did not anoint myself with oil… until the three weeks… were completed.

אָכַ֗לְתִּי לֹ֣א חֲמֻד֞וֹת לֶ֣חֶם לֹא־ וּבָשָׂ֥ר וָיַ֛יִן בָ֥א אֶל־ פִּ֖י לֹא־ וְס֣וֹךְ סָ֑כְתִּי עַד־ שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת שָׁבֻעִ֖ים יָמִֽים׃פ מְלֹ֕את ’ā·ḵal·tî lō ḥă·mu·ḏō·wṯ le·ḥem lō- ū·ḇā·śār wā·ya·yin ḇā ’el- pî lō- wə·sō·wḵ sā·ḵə·tî ‘aḏ- šə·lō·šeṯ šā·ḇu·‘îm yā·mîm mə·lōṯWLC · 3

On the twenty-fourth… day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great… river, the Tigris,

𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤁𐤏𐤄 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅𐤍 𐤋𐤇𐤃𐤔 𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤄𐤉𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤏𐤋 𐤉𐤃 𐤄𐤂𐤃𐤅𐤋 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤄𐤍𐤄𐤓 𐤇𐤃𐤒𐤋

עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה וּבְי֛וֹם הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ וַאֲנִ֗י הָיִ֛יתִי עַ֣ל יַ֧ד הַגָּד֖וֹל ה֥וּא הַנָּהָ֛ר חִדָּֽקֶל׃ ‘eś·rîm wə·’ar·bā·‘āh ū·ḇə·yō·wm hā·ri·šō·wn la·ḥō·ḏeš wa·’ă·nî hā·yî·ṯî ‘al yaḏ hag·gā·ḏō·wl hū han·nā·hār ḥid·dā·qelWLC · 4

I lifted up my eyes, vvv and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist.

𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤀 𐤀𐤕 𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤀 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤋𐤁𐤅𐤔 𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤌 𐤇𐤂𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤊𐤕𐤌 𐤀𐤅𐤐𐤆 𐤅𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤅

וָאֶשָּׂ֤א אֶת־ עֵינַי֙ וָאֵ֔רֶא וְהִנֵּ֥ה אֶחָ֖ד אִישׁ־ לָב֣וּשׁ בַּדִּ֑ים חֲגֻרִ֖ים בְּכֶ֥תֶם אוּפָֽז׃ וּמָתְנָ֥יו wā·’eś·śā ’eṯ- ‘ê·nay wā·’ê·re wə·hin·nêh ’e·ḥāḏ ’îš- lā·ḇūš bad·dîm ḥă·ḡu·rîm bə·ḵe·ṯem ’ū·p̄āz ū·mā·ṯə·nāwWLC · 5

His body [was] like beryl, his face like the brilliance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of polished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.

וּגְוִיָּת֣וֹ כְתַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ וּפָנָ֞יו כְּמַרְאֵ֤ה בָרָק֙ וְעֵינָיו֙ אֵ֔שׁ כְּלַפִּ֣ידֵי וּזְרֹֽעֹתָיו֙ וּמַרְגְּלֹתָ֔יו כְּעֵ֖ין קָלָ֑ל נְחֹ֣שֶׁת וְק֥וֹל דְּבָרָ֖יו כְּק֥וֹל הָמֽוֹן׃ ū·ḡə·wî·yā·ṯōw ḵə·ṯar·šîš ū·p̄ā·nāw kə·mar·’êh ḇā·rāq wə·‘ê·nāw ’êš kə·lap·pî·ḏê ū·zə·rō·‘ō·ṯāw ū·mar·gə·lō·ṯāw kə·‘ên qā·lāl nə·ḥō·šeṯ wə·qō·wl də·ḇā·rāw kə·qō·wl hā·mō·wnWLC · 6

Only I, Daniel, saw the vision; the men - with me did not see it -, but a great terror fell upon them, and they ran and hid themselves.

𐤋𐤁𐤃𐤉 𐤀𐤕 𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤀𐤋 𐤅𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤄𐤉𐤅 𐤏𐤌𐤉 𐤋𐤀 𐤓𐤀𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 𐤀𐤁𐤋 𐤂𐤃𐤋𐤄 𐤇𐤓𐤃𐤄 𐤍𐤐𐤋𐤄 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤇𐤅 𐤁𐤄𐤇𐤁𐤀

לְבַדִּי֙ אֶת־ אֲנִ֨י דָנִיֵּ֤אל וְרָאִיתִי֩ הַמַּרְאָ֔ה וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ עִמִּ֔י לֹ֥א רָא֖וּ אֶת־ הַמַּרְאָ֑ה אֲבָ֗ל גְדֹלָה֙ חֲרָדָ֤ה נָפְלָ֣ה עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וַֽיִּבְרְח֖וּ בְּהֵחָבֵֽא׃ lə·ḇad·dî ’eṯ- ’ă·nî ḏā·nî·yêl wə·rā·’î·ṯî ham·mar·’āh wə·hā·’ă·nā·šîm ’ă·šer hā·yū ‘im·mî lō rā·’ū ’eṯ- ham·mar·’āh ’ă·ḇāl ḡə·ḏō·lāh ḥă·rā·ḏāh nā·p̄ə·lāh ‘ă·lê·hem way·yiḇ·rə·ḥū bə·hê·ḥā·ḇêWLC · 7

So I was left alone…, gazing at this great vision. No strength remained in me; my face grew… deathly pale, and I was powerless…

𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤋𐤁𐤃𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤀𐤄 𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤂𐤃𐤋𐤄 𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤊𐤇 𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤓 𐤁𐤉 𐤅𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤉 𐤍𐤄𐤐𐤊 𐤏𐤋𐤉 𐤋𐤌𐤔𐤇𐤉𐤕 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤑𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤊𐤇

וַאֲנִי֙ נִשְׁאַ֣רְתִּי לְבַדִּ֔י וָֽאֶרְאֶ֗ה אֶת־ הַזֹּ֔את הַגְּדֹלָה֙ הַמַּרְאָ֤ה וְלֹ֥א כֹּ֑ח נִשְׁאַר־ בִּ֖י וְהוֹדִ֗י נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ עָלַי֙ לְמַשְׁחִ֔ית וְלֹ֥א עָצַ֖רְתִּי כֹּֽחַ׃ wa·’ă·nî niš·’ar·tî lə·ḇad·dî wā·’er·’eh ’eṯ- haz·zōṯ hag·gə·ḏō·lāh ham·mar·’āh wə·lō kōḥ niš·’ar- bî wə·hō·w·ḏî neh·paḵ ‘ā·lay lə·maš·ḥîṯ wə·lō ‘ā·ṣar·tî kō·aḥWLC · 8

I heard the sound of his words, and as I listened -, I… fell into a deep sleep,… with my face… to the ground.

וָאֶשְׁמַ֖ע אֶת־ ק֣וֹל דְּבָרָ֑יו וּכְשָׁמְעִי֙ אֶת־ ק֣וֹל דְּבָרָ֔יו וַאֲנִ֗י הָיִ֛יתִי נִרְדָּ֥ם עַל־ פָּנַ֖י וּפָנַ֥י אָֽרְצָה׃ wā·’eš·ma‘ ’eṯ- qō·wl də·ḇā·rāw ū·ḵə·šā·mə·‘î ’eṯ- qō·wl də·ḇā·rāw wa·’ă·nî hā·yî·ṯî nir·dām ‘al- pā·nay ū·p̄ā·nay ’ā·rə·ṣāhWLC · 9

Suddenly, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands… and knees.

𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤉𐤃 𐤍𐤂𐤏𐤄 𐤁𐤉 𐤅𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤏𐤍𐤉 𐤏𐤋 𐤅𐤊𐤐𐤅𐤕 𐤉𐤃𐤉 𐤁𐤓𐤊𐤉

וְהִנֵּה־ יָ֖ד נָ֣גְעָה בִּ֑י וַתְּנִיעֵ֥נִי עַל־ וְכַפּ֥וֹת יָדָֽי׃ בִּרְכַּ֖י wə·hin·nêh- yāḏ nā·ḡə·‘āh bî wat·tə·nî·‘ê·nî ‘al- wə·ḵap·pō·wṯ yā·ḏāy bir·kayWLC · 10

He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious. Consider carefully the words that I am about to say to you. Stand up…, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had said this to me,… I stood up trembling.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֡י דָּנִיֵּ֣אל אִישׁ־ חֲ֠מֻדוֹת הָבֵ֨ן בַּדְּבָרִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר֩ אָנֹכִ֨י דֹבֵ֤ר אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ וַעֲמֹ֣ד עַל־ עָמְדֶ֔ךָ כִּ֥י עַתָּ֖ה שֻׁלַּ֣חְתִּי אֵלֶ֑יךָ וּבְדַבְּר֥וֹ הַזֶּ֖ה עִמִּ֛י הַדָּבָ֥ר אֶת־ עָמַ֥דְתִּי מַרְעִֽיד׃ way·yō·mer ’ê·lay dā·nî·yêl ’îš- ḥă·mu·ḏō·wṯ hā·ḇên bad·də·ḇā·rîm ’ă·šer ’ā·nō·ḵî ḏō·ḇêr ’ê·le·ḵā wa·‘ă·mōḏ ‘al- ‘ā·mə·ḏe·ḵā kî ‘at·tāh šul·laḥ·tî ’ê·le·ḵā ū·ḇə·ḏab·bə·rōw haz·zeh ‘im·mî had·dā·ḇār ’eṯ- ‘ā·maḏ·tî mar·‘îḏWLC · 11

“Do not be afraid, Daniel,” he said -, “for from the first day that you purposed - to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

𐤀𐤋 𐤕𐤉𐤓𐤀 𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤀𐤋 𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤀𐤋𐤉 𐤊𐤉 𐤌𐤍 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅𐤍 𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤍𐤕𐤕 𐤀𐤕 𐤋𐤁𐤊 𐤋𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤍 𐤅𐤋𐤄𐤕𐤏𐤍𐤅𐤕 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤊 𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤊 𐤍𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤁𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤊

אַל־ תִּירָ֣א דָנִיֵּאל֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ כִּ֣י׀ מִן־ הָרִאשׁ֗וֹן הַיּ֣וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧תָּ אֶֽת־ לִבְּךָ֛ לְהָבִ֧ין וּלְהִתְעַנּ֛וֹת לִפְנֵ֥י אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ דְבָרֶ֑יךָ נִשְׁמְע֣וּ וַאֲנִי־ בָ֖אתִי בִּדְבָרֶֽיךָ׃ ’al- tî·rā ḏā·nî·yêl way·yō·mer ’ê·lay kî min- hā·ri·šō·wn hay·yō·wm ’ă·šer nā·ṯa·tā ’eṯ- lib·bə·ḵā lə·hā·ḇîn ū·lə·hiṯ·‘an·nō·wṯ lip̄·nê ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā ḏə·ḇā·re·ḵā niš·mə·‘ū wa·’ă·nî- ḇā·ṯî biḏ·ḇā·re·ḵāWLC · 12

However, the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one… days… Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.

𐤅𐤔𐤓 𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤅𐤕 𐤐𐤓𐤎 𐤏𐤌𐤃 𐤋𐤍𐤂𐤃𐤉 𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤄 𐤌𐤉𐤊𐤀𐤋 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤄𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤀 𐤋𐤏𐤆𐤓𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤉 𐤍𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤕𐤉 𐤔𐤌 𐤀𐤑𐤋 𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉 𐤐𐤓𐤎

וְשַׂ֣ר׀ מַלְכ֣וּת פָּרַ֗ס עֹמֵ֤ד לְנֶגְדִּי֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְאֶחָ֣ד י֔וֹם וְהִנֵּ֣ה מִֽיכָאֵ֗ל אַחַ֛ד הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים הַשָּׂרִ֥ים בָּ֣א לְעָזְרֵ֑נִי וַאֲנִי֙ נוֹתַ֣רְתִּי שָׁ֔ם אֵ֖צֶל מַלְכֵ֥י פָרָֽס׃ wə·śar mal·ḵūṯ pā·ras ‘ō·mêḏ lə·neḡ·dî ‘eś·rîm wə·’e·ḥāḏ yō·wm wə·hin·nêh mî·ḵā·’êl ’a·ḥaḏ hā·ri·šō·nîm haś·śā·rîm bā lə·‘ā·zə·rê·nî wa·’ă·nî nō·w·ṯar·tî šām ’ê·ṣel mal·ḵê p̄ā·rāsWLC · 13

Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for… the vision concerns those days.”

𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤉 𐤋𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤍𐤊 𐤀𐤕 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤄 𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤊 𐤁𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤕 𐤄𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤊𐤉 𐤏𐤅𐤃 𐤇𐤆𐤅𐤍 𐤋𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌

וּבָ֙אתִי֙ לַהֲבִ֣ינְךָ֔ אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־ יִקְרָ֥ה לְעַמְּךָ֖ בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית הַיָּמִ֑ים כִּי־ ע֥וֹד חָז֖וֹן לַיָּמִֽים׃ ū·ḇā·ṯî la·hă·ḇî·nə·ḵā ’êṯ ’ă·šer- yiq·rāh lə·‘am·mə·ḵā bə·’a·ḥă·rîṯ hay·yā·mîm kî- ‘ō·wḏ ḥā·zō·wn lay·yā·mîmWLC · 14

While he was speaking these words to me, I set my face toward the ground and became speechless.

וּבְדַבְּר֣וֹ הָאֵ֑לֶּה כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים עִמִּ֔י נָתַ֧תִּי פָנַ֛י אַ֖רְצָה וְנֶאֱלָֽמְתִּי׃ ū·ḇə·ḏab·bə·rōw hā·’êl·leh kad·də·ḇā·rîm ‘im·mî nā·ṯat·tî p̄ā·nay ’ar·ṣāh wə·ne·’ĕ·lā·mə·tîWLC · 15

And suddenly [one] with the likeness vvv of a man touched… my lips, and I opened my mouth… and said to the one standing before me, “My lord, because of the vision, I am overcome with anguish…, and I have no strength.

וְהִנֵּ֗ה כִּדְמוּת֙ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם נֹגֵ֖עַ עַל־ שְׂפָתָ֑י וָאֶפְתַּח־ פִּ֗י וָאֲדַבְּרָה֙ וָאֹֽמְרָה֙ אֶל־ הָעֹמֵ֣ד לְנֶגְדִּ֔י אֲדֹנִ֗י בַּמַּרְאָה֙ נֶהֶפְכ֤וּ צִירַי֙ עָלַ֔י עָצַ֖רְתִּי וְלֹ֥א כֹּֽחַ׃ wə·hin·nêh kiḏ·mūṯ bə·nê ’ā·ḏām nō·ḡê·a‘ ‘al- śə·p̄ā·ṯāy wā·’ep̄·taḥ- pî wā·’ă·ḏab·bə·rāh wā·’ō·mə·rāh ’el- hā·‘ō·mêḏ lə·neḡ·dî ’ă·ḏō·nî bam·mar·’āh ne·hep̄·ḵū ṣî·ray ‘ā·lay ‘ā·ṣar·tî wə·lō kō·aḥWLC · 16

How can I, [your]… servant, speak with [you], my lord? Now I have no strength, nor is any breath left in me.”

וְהֵ֣יךְ יוּכַ֗ל אֲדֹנִי֙ זֶ֔ה עֶ֤בֶד לְדַבֵּ֖ר עִם־ זֶ֑ה אֲדֹ֣נִי מֵעַ֙תָּה֙ וַאֲנִ֤י יַעֲמָד־ בִּ֣י לֹֽא־ כֹ֔חַ לֹ֥א וּנְשָׁמָ֖ה נִשְׁאֲרָה־ בִֽי׃ wə·hêḵ yū·ḵal ’ă·ḏō·nî zeh ‘e·ḇeḏ lə·ḏab·bêr ‘im- zeh ’ă·ḏō·nî mê·‘at·tāh wa·’ă·nî ya·‘ă·māḏ- bî lō- ḵō·aḥ lō ū·nə·šā·māh niš·’ă·rāh- ḇîWLC · 17

Again [the one] with the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me.

“Do not be afraid,… you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace [be] with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”

אַל־ תִּירָ֧א אִישׁ־ חֲמֻד֛וֹת וַיֹּ֜אמֶר שָׁל֥וֹם לָ֖ךְ חֲזַ֣ק וַחֲזָ֑ק וּֽבְדַבְּר֤וֹ עִמִּי֙ הִתְחַזַּ֔קְתִּי וָאֹֽמְרָ֛ה יְדַבֵּ֥ר אֲדֹנִ֖י כִּ֥י חִזַּקְתָּֽנִי׃ ’al- tî·rā ’îš- ḥă·mu·ḏō·wṯ way·yō·mer šā·lō·wm lāḵ ḥă·zaq wa·ḥă·zāq ū·ḇə·ḏab·bə·rō ‘im·mî hiṯ·ḥaz·zaq·tî wā·’ō·mə·rāh yə·ḏab·bêr ’ă·ḏō·nî kî ḥiz·zaq·tā·nîWLC · 19

“Do you know why I have come to you?” he said. “I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I have gone forth, behold, the prince of Greece will come.

הֲיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ לָמָּה־ בָּ֣אתִי אֵלֶ֔יךָ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אָשׁ֔וּב וְעַתָּ֣ה לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם עִם־ שַׂ֣ר פָּרָ֑ס וַאֲנִ֣י יוֹצֵ֔א וְהִנֵּ֥ה שַׂר־ יָוָ֖ן בָּֽא׃ hă·yā·ḏa‘·tā lām·māh- bā·ṯî ’ê·le·ḵā way·yō·mer ’ā·šūḇ wə·‘at·tāh lə·hil·lā·ḥêm ‘im- śar pā·rās wa·’ă·nî yō·w·ṣê wə·hin·nêh śar- yā·wān bāWLC · 20

But first I will tell you what is inscribed in the Book of Truth. Yet no one has the courage to support me against these, except… Michael your prince.
