A Remnant in Zion
1
In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own bread and provide our own clothes. Just let us be called by your name… Take away our disgrace!”

הַהוּא֙ בַּיּ֤וֹם שֶׁ֨בַע נָשִׁ֜ים וְהֶחֱזִיקוּ֩ אֶחָ֗ד בְּאִ֣ישׁ לֵאמֹ֔ר נֹאכֵ֔ל לַחְמֵ֣נוּ נִלְבָּ֑שׁ וְשִׂמְלָתֵ֖נוּ רַ֗ק יִקָּרֵ֤א שִׁמְךָ֙ עָלֵ֔ינוּ אֱסֹ֖ף חֶרְפָּתֵֽנוּ׃ס ha·hū bay·yō·wm še·ḇa‘ nā·šîm wə·he·ḥĕ·zî·qū ’e·ḥāḏ bə·’îš lê·mōr nō·ḵêl laḥ·mê·nū nil·bāš wə·śim·lā·ṯê·nū raq yiq·qā·rê šim·ḵā ‘ā·lê·nū ’ĕ·sōp̄ ḥer·pā·ṯê·nū — WLC · 1

On that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of Israel’s survivors.

הַה֗וּא בַּיּ֣וֹם צֶ֣מַח יְהוָ֔ה יִֽהְיֶה֙ לִצְבִ֖י וּלְכָב֑וֹד וּפְרִ֤י הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ לְגָא֣וֹן וּלְתִפְאֶ֔רֶת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ לִפְלֵיטַ֖ת ha·hū bay·yō·wm ṣe·maḥ Yah·weh yih·yeh liṣ·ḇî ū·lə·ḵā·ḇō·wḏ ū·p̄ə·rî hā·’ā·reṣ lə·ḡā·’ō·wn ū·lə·ṯip̄·’e·reṯ yiś·rā·’êl lip̄·lê·ṭaṯ — WLC · 2

- Whoever remains in Zion and whoever is left in Jerusalem will be called holy— all in Jerusalem who are recorded among the living—

וְהָיָ֣ה׀ הַנִּשְׁאָ֣ר בְּצִיּ֗וֹן וְהַנּוֹתָר֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם יֵאָ֣מֶר ל֑וֹ קָד֖וֹשׁ כָּל־ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ הַכָּת֥וּב לַחַיִּ֖ים wə·hā·yāh han·niš·’ār bə·ṣî·yō·wn wə·han·nō·w·ṯār bî·rū·šā·lim yê·’ā·mer lōw qā·ḏō·wōš kāl- bî·rū·šā·lim hak·kā·ṯūḇ la·ḥay·yîm — WLC · 3

when the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.
𐤀𐤌 𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤕 𐤓𐤇𐤑 𐤑𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤇 𐤃𐤌𐤉 𐤌𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤄 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤇 𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈 𐤅𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤇 𐤁𐤏𐤓
אִ֣ם׀ אֲדֹנָ֗י אֵ֚ת רָחַ֣ץ צֹאַ֣ת בְּנוֹת־ צִיּ֔וֹן וְאֶת־ יָדִ֣יחַ דְּמֵ֥י מִקִּרְבָּ֑הּ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם בְּר֥וּחַ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּבְר֥וּחַ בָּעֵֽר׃ ’im ’ă·ḏō·nāy ’êṯ rā·ḥaṣ ṣō·’aṯ bə·nō·wṯ- ṣî·yō·wn wə·’eṯ- yā·ḏî·aḥ də·mê miq·qir·bāh yə·rū·šā·lim bə·rū·aḥ miš·pāṭ ū·ḇə·rū·aḥ bā·‘êr — WLC · 4

Then the LORD will create over all of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud of smoke by day and a glowing flame of fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a canopy,

יְהוָ֡ה וּבָרָ֣א עַל֩ כָּל־ מְכ֨וֹן הַר־ צִיּ֜וֹן וְעַל־ מִקְרָאֶ֗הָ עָנָ֤ן׀ וְעָשָׁ֔ן יוֹמָם֙ וְנֹ֛גַהּ לֶהָבָ֖ה אֵ֥שׁ לָ֑יְלָה כִּ֥י עַל־ כָּל־ כָּב֖וֹד חֻפָּֽה׃ Yah·weh ū·ḇā·rā ‘al kāl- mə·ḵō·wn har- ṣî·yō·wn wə·‘al- miq·rā·’e·hā ‘ā·nān wə·‘ā·šān yō·w·mām wə·nō·ḡah le·hā·ḇāh ’êš lā·yə·lāh kî ‘al- kāl- kā·ḇō·wḏ ḥup·pāh — WLC · 5

- a shelter to [give] shade from the heat by day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and the rain.

תִּהְיֶ֥ה וְסֻכָּ֛ה לְצֵל־ מֵחֹ֑רֶב יוֹמָ֖ם וּלְמַחְסֶה֙ וּלְמִסְתּ֔וֹר מִזֶּ֖רֶם וּמִמָּטָֽר׃פ tih·yeh wə·suk·kāh lə·ṣêl- mê·ḥō·reḇ yō·w·mām ū·lə·maḥ·seh ū·lə·mis·tō·wr miz·ze·rem ū·mim·mā·ṭār — WLC · 6
