Chapter 28

The Captivity of Ephraim

1

Woe to the majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards, to the fading flower of his glorious splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley, [the pride] of those overcome by wine.

𐤄𐤅𐤉 𐤂𐤀𐤅𐤕 𐤏𐤈𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤊𐤓𐤉 𐤍𐤁𐤋 𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤑 𐤑𐤁𐤉 𐤕𐤐𐤀𐤓𐤕𐤅 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤏𐤋 𐤓𐤀𐤔 𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤂𐤉𐤀 𐤄𐤋𐤅𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤉𐤍

ה֗וֹי גֵּאוּת֙ עֲטֶ֤רֶת אֶפְרַ֔יִם שִׁכֹּרֵ֣י נֹבֵ֖ל וְצִ֥יץ צְבִ֣י תִפְאַרְתּ֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֛ר עַל־ רֹ֥אשׁ שְׁמָנִ֖ים גֵּֽיא־ הֲל֥וּמֵי יָֽיִן׃ hō·w gê·’ūṯ ‘ă·ṭe·reṯ ’ep̄·ra·yim šik·kō·rê nō·ḇêl wə·ṣîṣ ṣə·ḇî ṯip̄·’ar·tōw ’ă·šer ‘al- rōš šə·mā·nîm gê- hă·lū·mê yā·yinWLC · 1

Behold, the Lord [has one ] [who is] strong and mighty. vvv Like a hailstorm or destructive tempest, like a driving rain… or flooding downpour…, he will smash [that crown]… to the ground.

הִנֵּ֨ה לַֽאדֹנָ֔י חָזָ֤ק וְאַמִּץ֙ כְּזֶ֥רֶם בָּרָ֖ד קָ֑טֶב שַׂ֣עַר כְּ֠זֶרֶם מַ֣יִם כַּבִּירִ֥ים שֹׁטְפִ֛ים הִנִּ֥יחַ בְּיָֽד׃ לָאָ֖רֶץ hin·nêh la·ḏō·nāy ḥā·zāq wə·’am·miṣ kə·ze·rem bā·rāḏ qā·ṭeḇ śa·‘ar kə·ze·rem ma·yim kab·bî·rîm šō·ṭə·p̄îm hin·nî·aḥ bə·yāḏ lā·’ā·reṣWLC · 2

The majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards will be trampled underfoot…

𐤂𐤀𐤅𐤕 𐤏𐤈𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤊𐤅𐤓𐤉 𐤕𐤓𐤌𐤎𐤍𐤄 𐤁𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤉𐤌

גֵּא֖וּת עֲטֶ֥רֶת אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ שִׁכּוֹרֵ֥י תֵּֽרָמַ֑סְנָה בְּרַגְלַ֖יִם gê·’ūṯ ‘ă·ṭe·reṯ ’ep̄·rā·yim šik·kō·w·rê tê·rā·mas·nāh bə·raḡ·la·yimWLC · 3

The fading flower of his beautiful splendor, [set] on the summit above the fertile valley, will be like a ripe fig before the summer harvest: Whoever sees it will take it in his hand [and] swallow it.

נֹבֵל֙ צִיצַ֤ת צְבִ֣י תִפְאַרְתּ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־ רֹ֖אשׁ שְׁמָנִ֑ים גֵּ֣יא וְֽהָ֨יְתָ֜ה כְּבִכּוּרָהּ֙ בְּטֶ֣רֶם קַ֔יִץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִרְאֶ֤ה הָֽרֹאֶה֙ אוֹתָ֔הּ בְּעוֹדָ֥הּ בְּכַפּ֖וֹ יִבְלָעֶֽנָּה׃ס nō·ḇêl ṣî·ṣaṯ ṣə·ḇî ṯip̄·’ar·tōw ’ă·šer ‘al- rōš šə·mā·nîm gê wə·hā·yə·ṯāh kə·ḇik·kū·rå̄h bə·ṭe·rem qa·yiṣ ’ă·šer yir·’eh hā·rō·’eh ’ō·w·ṯāh bə·‘ō·w·ḏāh bə·ḵap·pōw yiḇ·lā·‘en·nāhWLC · 4

On that day the LORD of Hosts will be a crown of glory, a diadem of splendor to the remnant of His people,

𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤑𐤁𐤀𐤅𐤕 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤋𐤏𐤈𐤓𐤕 𐤑𐤁𐤉 𐤅𐤋𐤑𐤐𐤉𐤓𐤕 𐤕𐤐𐤀𐤓𐤄 𐤋𐤔𐤀𐤓 𐤏𐤌𐤅

הַה֗וּא בַּיּ֣וֹם יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת יִֽהְיֶה֙ לַעֲטֶ֣רֶת צְבִ֔י וְלִצְפִירַ֖ת תִּפְאָרָ֑ה לִשְׁאָ֖ר עַמּֽוֹ׃ ha·hū bay·yō·wm Yah·weh ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ yih·yeh la·‘ă·ṭe·reṯ ṣə·ḇî wə·liṣ·p̄î·raṯ tip̄·’ā·rāh liš·’ār ‘am·mōwWLC · 5

a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and a strength to those who repel the onslaught at the gate.

𐤅𐤋𐤓𐤅𐤇 𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈 𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤁 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈 𐤅𐤋𐤂𐤁𐤅𐤓𐤄 𐤌𐤔𐤉𐤁𐤉 𐤌𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤄 𐤔𐤏𐤓𐤄𐤎

וּלְר֖וּחַ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט לַיּוֹשֵׁב֙ עַל־ הַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְלִ֨גְבוּרָ֔ה מְשִׁיבֵ֥י מִלְחָמָ֖ה שָֽׁעְרָה׃ס ū·lə·rū·aḥ miš·pāṭ lay·yō·wō·šêḇ ‘al- ham·miš·pāṭ wə·liḡ·ḇū·rāh mə·šî·ḇê mil·ḥā·māh šā·‘ə·rāhWLC · 6

These also stagger from wine and stumble from strong drink: Priests and prophets reel from strong drink and are befuddled by wine. They stumble because of strong drink, muddled in their visions and stumbling in their judgments.

אֵ֙לֶּה֙ וְגַם־ שָׁג֔וּ בַּיַּ֣יִן תָּע֑וּ וּבַשֵּׁכָ֖ר כֹּהֵ֣ן וְנָבִיא֩ שָׁג֨וּ בַשֵּׁכָ֜ר נִבְלְע֣וּ מִן־ הַיַּ֗יִן תָּעוּ֙ מִן־ הַשֵּׁכָ֔ר שָׁגוּ֙ בָּֽרֹאֶ֔ה פָּק֖וּ פְּלִילִיָּֽה׃ ’êl·leh wə·ḡam- šā·ḡū bay·ya·yin tā·‘ū ū·ḇaš·šê·ḵār kō·hên wə·nā·ḇî šā·ḡū ḇaš·šê·ḵār niḇ·lə·‘ū min- hay·ya·yin tā·‘ū min- haš·šê·ḵār šā·ḡū bā·rō·’eh pā·qū pə·lî·lî·yāhWLC · 7

For all their tables are covered with vomit; there is not a place without filth.

כִּ֚י כָּל־ שֻׁלְחָנ֔וֹת מָלְא֖וּ קִ֣יא מָקֽוֹם׃ס בְּלִ֖י צֹאָ֑ה kî kāl- šul·ḥā·nō·wṯ mā·lə·’ū qî mā·qō·wm bə·lî ṣō·’āhWLC · 8

  • Whom is He trying to teach…? To whom is He explaining His message? To infants just weaned from milk? To babies removed from the breast?

𐤀𐤕 𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤅𐤓𐤄 𐤃𐤏𐤄 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤌𐤉 𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤍 𐤔𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤄 𐤂𐤌𐤅𐤋𐤉 𐤌𐤇𐤋𐤁 𐤏𐤕𐤉𐤒𐤉 𐤌𐤔𐤃𐤉𐤌

אֶת־ מִי֙ יוֹרֶ֣ה דֵעָ֔ה וְאֶת־ מִ֖י יָבִ֣ין שְׁמוּעָ֑ה גְּמוּלֵי֙ מֵֽחָלָ֔ב עַתִּיקֵ֖י מִשָּׁדָֽיִם׃ ’eṯ- mî yō·w·reh ḏê·‘āh wə·’eṯ- mî yā·ḇîn šə·mū·‘āh gə·mū·lê mê·ḥā·lāḇ ‘at·tî·qê miš·šā·ḏā·yimWLC · 9

For [they hear]: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there.”

𐤊𐤉 𐤑𐤅 𐤋𐤑𐤅 𐤑𐤅 𐤋𐤑𐤅 𐤒𐤅 𐤋𐤒𐤅 𐤒𐤅 𐤋𐤒𐤅 𐤆𐤏𐤉𐤓 𐤔𐤌 𐤆𐤏𐤉𐤓 𐤔𐤌

כִּ֣י צַ֤ו לָצָו֙ צַ֣ו לָצָ֔ו קַ֥ו לָקָ֖ו קַ֣ו לָקָ֑ו זְעֵ֥יר שָׁ֖ם זְעֵ֥יר שָֽׁם׃ kî ṣaw lā·ṣāw ṣaw lā·ṣāw qaw lā·qāw qaw lā·qāw zə·‘êr šām zə·‘êr šāmWLC · 10

Indeed, with mocking lips and foreign tongues, He will speak to this people

𐤊𐤉 𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤂𐤉 𐤔𐤐𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤕 𐤅𐤁𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤍 𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤆𐤄 𐤄𐤏𐤌

כִּ֚י בְּלַעֲגֵ֣י שָׂפָ֔ה אַחֶ֑רֶת וּבְלָשׁ֖וֹן יְדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־ הַזֶּֽה׃ הָעָ֥ם kî bə·la·‘ă·ḡê śā·p̄āh ’a·ḥe·reṯ ū·ḇə·lā·šō·wn yə·ḏab·bêr ’el- haz·zeh hā·‘āmWLC · 11

to whom He has said -: “This is the place of rest, let the weary rest; this is the place of repose.” But they would not listen.

𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤌 𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤌𐤍𐤅𐤇𐤄 𐤋𐤏𐤉𐤐 𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤇𐤅 𐤅𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤂𐤏𐤄 𐤀𐤁𐤅𐤀 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤔𐤌𐤅𐤏

אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ אָמַ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם זֹ֤את הַמְּנוּחָה֙ לֶֽעָיֵ֔ף הָנִ֣יחוּ וְזֹ֖את הַמַּרְגֵּעָ֑ה אָב֖וּא וְלֹ֥א שְׁמֽוֹעַ׃ ’ă·šer ’ā·mar ’ă·lê·hem zōṯ ham·mə·nū·ḥāh le·‘ā·yêp̄ hā·nî·ḥū wə·zōṯ ham·mar·gê·‘āh ’ā·ḇū wə·lō šə·mō·w·a‘WLC · 12

Then the word of the LORD to them will become: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there,” so that they will go stumbling backward and will be injured, ensnared, and captured.

דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֗ה לָהֶ֜ם וְהָיָ֨ה צַ֣ו לָצָ֞ו צַ֤ו לָצָו֙ קַ֤ו לָקָו֙ קַ֣ו לָקָ֔ו זְעֵ֥יר שָׁ֖ם זְעֵ֣יר שָׁ֑ם לְמַ֨עַן יֵלְכ֜וּ וְכָשְׁל֤וּ אָחוֹר֙ וְנִשְׁבָּ֔רוּ וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ׃פ də·ḇar- Yah·weh lā·hem wə·hā·yāh ṣaw lā·ṣāw ṣaw lā·ṣāw qaw lā·qāw qaw lā·qāw zə·‘êr šām zə·‘êr šām lə·ma·‘an yê·lə·ḵū wə·ḵā·šə·lū ’ā·ḥō·wr wə·niš·bā·rū wə·nō·wq·šū wə·nil·kā·ḏūWLC · 13

A Cornerstone in Zion

Therefore hear the word of the LORD, O scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.

לָכֵ֛ן שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אַנְשֵׁ֣י לָצ֑וֹן מֹֽשְׁלֵי֙ הַזֶּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר הָעָ֣ם בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ lā·ḵên šim·‘ū ḏə·ḇar- Yah·weh ’an·šê lā·ṣō·wn mō·šə·lê haz·zeh ’ă·šer hā·‘ām bî·rū·šā·limWLC · 14

For you said, “We have made a covenant with death; we have fashioned an agreement… with Sheol. When the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not touch us, because we have made lies our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.”

𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕𐤌 𐤊𐤓𐤕𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤕 𐤀𐤕 𐤌𐤅𐤕 𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤇𐤆𐤄 𐤔𐤉𐤈 𐤅𐤏𐤌 𐤔𐤀𐤅𐤋 𐤊𐤉 𐤔𐤅𐤈𐤐 𐤏𐤁𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤁𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤅 𐤊𐤉 𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤊𐤆𐤁 𐤌𐤇𐤎𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤁𐤔𐤒𐤓 𐤍𐤎𐤕𐤓𐤍𐤅𐤎

כִּ֣י אֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם כָּרַ֤תְנֽוּ בְרִית֙ אֶת־ מָ֔וֶת עָשִׂ֣ינוּ חֹזֶ֑ה שִׁיט וְעִם־ שְׁא֖וֹל כִּֽי־ שׁוֹטֵ֤ף עָבַר לֹ֣א יְבוֹאֵ֔נוּ כִּ֣י שַׂ֧מְנוּ כָזָ֛ב מַחְסֵ֖נוּ וּבַשֶּׁ֥קֶר נִסְתָּֽרְנוּ׃ס kî ’ă·mar·tem kā·raṯ·nū ḇə·rîṯ ’eṯ- mā·weṯ ‘ā·śî·nū ḥō·zeh šīṭ wə·‘im- šə·’ō·wl kî- šō·w·ṭêp̄ ʿå̄·ḇar lō yə·ḇō·w·’ê·nū kî śam·nū ḵā·zāḇ maḥ·sê·nū ū·ḇaš·še·qer nis·tā·rə·nūWLC · 15

So this is what the Lord GOD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken.

𐤋𐤊𐤍 𐤊𐤄 𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤌𐤓 𐤄𐤍𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤎𐤃 𐤀𐤁𐤍 𐤁𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤁𐤇𐤍 𐤀𐤁𐤍 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤕 𐤐𐤍𐤕 𐤌𐤅𐤎𐤃 𐤌𐤅𐤎𐤃 𐤄𐤌𐤀𐤌𐤉𐤍 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤇𐤉𐤔

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה אָמַר֙ הִנְנִ֛י יִסַּ֥ד אָ֑בֶן בְּצִיּ֖וֹן בֹּ֜חַן אֶ֣בֶן יִקְרַת֙ פִּנַּ֤ת מוּסָּ֔ד מוּסָ֣ד הַֽמַּאֲמִ֖ין לֹ֥א יָחִֽישׁ׃ lā·ḵên kōh ’ă·ḏō·nāy Yah·weh ’ā·mar hin·nî yis·saḏ ’ā·ḇen bə·ṣî·yō·wn bō·ḥan ’e·ḇen yiq·raṯ pin·naṯ mūs·sāḏ mū·sāḏ ham·ma·’ă·mîn lō yā·ḥîšWLC · 16

I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level. Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and water will flood your hiding place.

וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י מִשְׁפָּט֙ לְקָ֔ו וּצְדָקָ֖ה לְמִשְׁקָ֑לֶת בָרָד֙ וְיָעָ֤ה מַחְסֵ֣ה כָזָ֔ב מַ֖יִם יִשְׁטֹֽפוּ׃ וְסֵ֥תֶר wə·śam·tî miš·pāṭ lə·qāw ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh lə·miš·qā·leṯ ḇā·rāḏ wə·yā·‘āh maḥ·sêh ḵā·zāḇ ma·yim yiš·ṭō·p̄ū wə·sê·ṯerWLC · 17

Your covenant with death will be dissolved, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge passes through, you will be trampled by it.

As often as it passes through, it will carry you away -; it will sweep through morning after morning, by day and by night…” The understanding of [this] message [will bring] sheer terror.

מִדֵּ֤י עָבְרוֹ֙ יִקַּ֣ח אֶתְכֶ֔ם כִּֽי־ יַעֲבֹ֖ר בַבֹּ֧קֶר בַּבֹּ֛קֶר בַּיּ֣וֹם וּבַלָּ֑יְלָה וְהָיָ֥ה הָבִ֥ין שְׁמוּעָֽה׃ רַק־ זְוָעָ֖ה mid·dê ‘ā·ḇə·rōw yiq·qaḥ ’eṯ·ḵem kî- ya·‘ă·ḇōr ḇab·bō·qer bab·bō·qer bay·yō·wm ū·ḇal·lā·yə·lāh wə·hā·yāh hā·ḇîn šə·mū·‘āh raq- zə·wā·‘āhWLC · 19

Indeed, the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket too small to wrap around you.

כִּֽי־ הַמַּצָּ֖ע קָצַ֥ר מֵֽהִשְׂתָּרֵ֑עַ וְהַמַּסֵּכָ֥ה צָ֖רָה כְּהִתְכַּנֵּֽס׃ kî- ham·maṣ·ṣā‘ qā·ṣar mê·hiś·tā·rê·a‘ wə·ham·mas·sê·ḵāh ṣā·rāh kə·hiṯ·kan·nêsWLC · 20

For the LORD will rise up as at Mount Perazim. He will rouse Himself as [in] the Valley of Gibeon, to do His work, His strange work, and to perform His task, His disturbing task.

So now, do not mock, or your shackles will become heavier. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Hosts a decree of destruction against the whole land.

הַאֲזִ֥ינוּ וְשִׁמְע֖וּ קוֹלִ֑י הַקְשִׁ֥יבוּ וְשִׁמְע֖וּ אִמְרָתִֽי׃ ha·’ă·zî·nū wə·šim·‘ū qō·w·lî haq·šî·ḇū wə·šim·‘ū ’im·rā·ṯîWLC · 23

Does the plowman plow for planting every day? Does he continuously loosen and harrow the soil?

יַחֲרֹ֥שׁ הַחֹרֵ֖שׁ לִזְרֹ֑עַ הֲכֹ֣ל הַיּ֔וֹם יְפַתַּ֥ח וִֽישַׂדֵּ֖ד אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ ya·ḥă·rōš ha·ḥō·rêš liz·rō·a‘ hă·ḵōl hay·yō·wm yə·p̄at·taḥ wî·śad·dêḏ ’aḏ·mā·ṯōwWLC · 24

When he has leveled its surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin? He plants wheat in rows and barley in plots, and rye within its border.

אִם־ שִׁוָּ֣ה פָנֶ֔יהָ הֲלוֹא֙ יִזְרֹ֑ק קֶ֖צַח וְהֵפִ֥יץ וְכַמֹּ֣ן וְשָׂ֨ם חִטָּ֤ה שׂוֹרָה֙ וּשְׂעֹרָ֣ה נִסְמָ֔ן וְכֻסֶּ֖מֶת גְּבֻלָתֽוֹ׃ ’im- šiw·wāh p̄ā·ne·hā hă·lō·w yiz·rōq qe·ṣaḥ wə·hê·p̄îṣ wə·ḵam·mōn wə·śām ḥiṭ·ṭāh śō·w·rāh ū·śə·‘ō·rāh nis·mān wə·ḵus·se·meṯ gə·ḇu·lā·ṯōwWLC · 25

For his God instructs and teaches him properly.

𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤎𐤓𐤅 𐤉𐤅𐤓𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈

אֱלֹהָ֥יו וְיִסְּר֥וֹ יוֹרֶֽנּוּ׃ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט ’ĕ·lō·hāw wə·yis·sə·rōw yō·w·ren·nū lam·miš·pāṭWLC · 26

Surely caraway is not threshed with a sledge, and the wheel of a cart is not rolled over the cumin. But caraway is beaten out with a stick, and cumin with a rod.

𐤊𐤉 𐤒𐤑𐤇 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤅𐤃𐤔 𐤁𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤑 𐤅𐤀𐤅𐤐𐤍 𐤏𐤂𐤋𐤄 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤁 𐤏𐤋 𐤊𐤌𐤍 𐤊𐤉 𐤒𐤑𐤇 𐤉𐤇𐤁𐤈 𐤁𐤌𐤈𐤄 𐤅𐤊𐤌𐤍 𐤁𐤔𐤁𐤈

כִּ֣י קֶ֔צַח לֹ֤א י֣וּדַשׁ בֶֽחָרוּץ֙ וְאוֹפַ֣ן עֲגָלָ֔ה יוּסָּ֑ב עַל־ כַּמֹּ֖ן כִּ֧י קֶ֖צַח יֵחָ֥בֶט בַמַּטֶּ֛ה וְכַמֹּ֥ן בַּשָּֽׁבֶט׃ kî qe·ṣaḥ lō yū·ḏaš ḇe·ḥā·rūṣ wə·’ō·w·p̄an ‘ă·ḡā·lāh yūs·sāḇ ‘al- kam·mōn kî qe·ṣaḥ yê·ḥā·ḇeṭ ḇam·maṭ·ṭeh wə·ḵam·mōn baš·šā·ḇeṭWLC · 27

Grain for bread must be ground, but it is not endlessly threshed… Though the wheels of the cart roll over it, the horses do not crush it.

לֶ֣חֶם יוּדָ֔ק כִּ֛י לֹ֥א יְדוּשֶׁ֑נּוּ לָנֶ֖צַח אָד֣וֹשׁ גִּלְגַּ֧ל עֶגְלָת֛וֹ וְ֠הָמַם וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו לֹֽא־ יְדֻקֶּֽנּוּ׃ le·ḥem yū·ḏāq kî lō yə·ḏū·šen·nū lā·ne·ṣaḥ ’ā·ḏō·wōš gil·gal ‘eḡ·lā·ṯōw wə·hā·mam ū·p̄ā·rā·šāw lō- yə·ḏuq·qen·nūWLC · 28

This also comes from the LORD of Hosts, [who] is wonderful in counsel [and] excellent in wisdom.
