You Showed Favor to Your Land

For the choirmaster. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. 1You showed favor to Your land, O LORD; You restored Jacob from captivity.

לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ׀ מִזְמֽוֹר׃ לִבְנֵי־ קֹ֬רַח רָצִ֣יתָ אַרְצֶ֑ךָ יְהוָ֣ה שַׁ֝֗בְתָּ יַעֲקֹֽב׃ שְׁבוּת lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ miz·mō·wr liḇ·nê- qō·raḥ rā·ṣî·ṯā ’ar·ṣe·ḵā Yah·weh šab̲·tā ya·‘ă·qōḇ šə·ḇūṯ — WLC · 1

You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered all their sin. Selah

נָ֭שָׂאתָ עֲוֺ֣ן עַמֶּ֑ךָ כִּסִּ֖יתָ כָל־ חַטָּאתָ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃ nā·śā·ṯā ‘ă·wōn ‘am·me·ḵā kis·sî·ṯā ḵāl ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām se·lāh — WLC · 2

You withheld all Your fury; You turned from Your burning anger…

אָסַ֥פְתָּ כָל־ עֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ הֱ֝שִׁיב֗וֹתָ מֵחֲר֥וֹן אַפֶּֽךָ׃ ’ā·sap̄·tā ḵāl ‘eḇ·rā·ṯe·ḵā hĕ·šî·ḇō·w·ṯā mê·ḥă·rō·wn ’ap·pe·ḵā — WLC · 3

Restore us, O God of our salvation, and put away Your displeasure toward us.

שׁ֭וּבֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֑נוּ וְהָפֵ֖ר כַּֽעַסְךָ֣ עִמָּֽנוּ׃ šû·b̲ē·nû ’ĕ·lō·hê yiš·‘ê·nū wə·hā·p̄êr ka·‘as·ḵā ‘im·mā·nū — WLC · 4

Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?

תֶּֽאֱנַף־ בָּ֑נוּ הַלְעוֹלָ֥ם תִּמְשֹׁ֥ךְ אַ֝פְּךָ֗ לְדֹ֣ר וָדֹֽר׃ te·’ĕ·nap̄- bā·nū hal·‘ō·w·lām tim·šōḵ ’ap·pə·ḵā lə·ḏōr wā·ḏōr — WLC · 5

Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?

אַ֭תָּה הֲֽלֹא־ תְּחַיֵּ֑נוּ תָּשׁ֣וּב וְ֝עַמְּךָ֗ יִשְׂמְחוּ־ בָֽךְ׃ ’at·tāh hă·lō- tə·ḥay·yê·nū tā·šūḇ wə·‘am·mə·ḵā yiś·mə·ḥū- ḇāḵ — WLC · 6

Show us Your loving devotion, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.

הַרְאֵ֣נוּ חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ יְהוָ֣ה תִּתֶּן־ לָֽנוּ׃ וְ֝יֶשְׁעֲךָ֗ har·’ê·nū ḥas·de·ḵā Yah·weh tit·ten- lā·nū wə·yeš·‘ă·ḵā — WLC · 7

I will listen to what God the LORD will say; for He will surely speak peace to His people and His saints; He will not let them return to folly.

אֶשְׁמְעָ֗ה מַה־ הָאֵ֪ל׀ יְה֫וָ֥ה יְדַבֵּר֮ כִּ֤י׀ יְדַבֵּ֬ר שָׁל֗וֹם אֶל־ עַמּ֥וֹ וְאֶל־ חֲסִידָ֑יו וְֽאַל־ יָשׁ֥וּבוּ לְכִסְלָֽה׃ ’eš·mə·‘āh mah- hā·’êl Yah·weh yə·ḏab·bêr kî yə·ḏab·bêr šā·lō·wm ’el- ‘am·mōw wə·’el- ḥă·sî·ḏāw wə·’al- yā·šū·ḇū lə·ḵis·lāh — WLC · 8

Surely His salvation [is] near to those who fear Him, that His glory may dwell in our land.

אַ֤ךְ׀ יִשְׁע֑וֹ קָר֣וֹב לִירֵאָ֣יו כָּב֣וֹד לִשְׁכֹּ֖ן בְּאַרְצֵֽנוּ׃ ’aḵ yiš·‘ōw qā·rō·wḇ lî·rê·’āw kā·ḇō·wḏ liš·kōn bə·’ar·ṣê·nū — WLC · 9

Loving devotion and faithfulness have joined together; righteousness and peace have kissed.
𐤇𐤎𐤃 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤕 𐤍𐤐𐤂𐤔𐤅 𐤑𐤃𐤒 𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤅𐤌 𐤍𐤔𐤒𐤅
חֶֽסֶד־ וֶאֱמֶ֥ת נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ צֶ֖דֶק וְשָׁל֣וֹם נָשָֽׁקוּ׃ ḥe·seḏ- we·’ĕ·meṯ nip̄·gā·šū ṣe·ḏeq wə·šā·lō·wm nā·šā·qū — WLC · 10

Faithfulness sprouts from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.
𐤀𐤌𐤕 𐤕𐤑𐤌𐤇 𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤅𐤑𐤃𐤒 𐤍𐤔𐤒𐤐 𐤌𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌
אֱ֭מֶת תִּצְמָ֑ח מֵאֶ֣רֶץ וְ֝צֶ֗דֶק נִשְׁקָֽף׃ מִשָּׁמַ֥יִם ’ĕ·meṯ tiṣ·māḥ mê·’e·reṣ wə·ṣe·ḏeq niš·qāp̄ miš·šā·ma·yim — WLC · 11

The LORD will indeed provide what is good…, and our land will yield its increase.

יְ֭הוָה גַּם־ יִתֵּ֣ן הַטּ֑וֹב וְ֝אַרְצֵ֗נוּ תִּתֵּ֥ן יְבוּלָֽהּ׃ Yah·weh gam- yit·tên haṭ·ṭō·wḇ wə·’ar·ṣê·nū tit·tên yə·ḇū·lāh — WLC · 12

Righteousness will go before Him to prepare the way for His steps.
