לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ אֶל־ שֹׁשַׁנִּ֑ים עֵד֖וּת מִזְמֽוֹר׃ לְאָסָ֣ף הַאֲזִ֗ינָה רֹ֘עֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל׀ נֹהֵ֣ג יוֹסֵ֑ף כַּצֹּ֣אן יֹשֵׁ֖ב הַכְּרוּבִ֣ים הוֹפִֽיעָה׃ lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ ’el- šō·šan·nîm ‘ê·ḏūṯ miz·mō·wr lə·’ā·sāp̄ ha·’ă·zî·nāh rō·‘êh yiś·rā·’êl nō·hêḡ yō·w·sêp̄ kaṣ·ṣōn yō·šêḇ hak·kə·rū·ḇîm hō·w·p̄î·‘āh — WLC · 1

before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Rally Your mighty power and come to save us.

לִפְנֵ֤י אֶפְרַ֨יִם׀ וּבִנְיָ֘מִ֤ן וּמְנַשֶּׁ֗ה עוֹרְרָ֥ה אֶת־ גְּבֽוּרָתֶ֑ךָ וּלְכָ֖ה לִישֻׁעָ֣תָה לָּֽנוּ׃ lip̄·nê ’ep̄·ra·yim ū·ḇin·yā·min ū·mə·naš·šeh ‘ō·wr·rāh ’eṯ- gə·ḇū·rā·ṯe·ḵā ū·lə·ḵāh lî·šu·‘ā·ṯāh lā·nū — WLC · 2

Restore us, O God, and cause Your face to shine upon us, that we may be saved.

O LORD God of Hosts, how long… will Your anger smolder against the prayers of Your people?

יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֣ים צְבָא֑וֹת עַד־ מָתַ֥י עָ֝שַׁ֗נְתָּ בִּתְפִלַּ֥ת עַמֶּֽךָ׃ Yah·weh ’ĕ·lō·hîm ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ ‘aḏ- mā·ṯay ‘ā·šan·tā biṯ·p̄il·laṯ ‘am·me·ḵā — WLC · 4

You fed them with the bread of tears and made them drink the full measure of [their] tears.

הֶ֭אֱכַלְתָּם לֶ֣חֶם דִּמְעָ֑ה וַ֝תַּשְׁקֵ֗מוֹ שָׁלִֽישׁ׃ בִּדְמָע֥וֹת he·’ĕ·ḵal·tām le·ḥem dim·‘āh wat·taš·qê·mōw šā·lîš biḏ·mā·‘ō·wṯ — WLC · 5

You make us contend with our neighbors; our enemies mock us.

תְּשִׂימֵ֣נוּ מָ֭דוֹן לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ וְ֝אֹיְבֵ֗ינוּ יִלְעֲגוּ־ לָֽמוֹ׃ tə·śî·mê·nū mā·ḏō·wn liš·ḵê·nê·nū wə·’ō·yə·ḇê·nū yil·‘ă·ḡū- lā·mōw — WLC · 6

You uprooted a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and transplanted it.

תַּסִּ֑יעַ גֶּ֭פֶן מִמִּצְרַ֣יִם תְּגָרֵ֥שׁ גּ֝וֹיִ֗ם וַתִּטָּעֶֽהָ׃ tas·sî·a‘ ge·p̄en mim·miṣ·ra·yim tə·ḡā·rêš gō·w·yim wat·tiṭ·ṭā·‘e·hā — WLC · 8

You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land.

פִּנִּ֥יתָ לְפָנֶ֑יהָ וַתַּשְׁרֵ֥שׁ שָׁ֝רָשֶׁ֗יהָ וַתְּמַלֵּא־ אָֽרֶץ׃ pin·nî·ṯā lə·p̄ā·ne·hā wat·taš·rêš rā·še·hā wat·tə·mal·lê- ’ā·reṣ — WLC · 9

The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches.

הָרִ֣ים כָּסּ֣וּ צִלָּ֑הּ אֵֽל׃ אַֽרְזֵי־ וַ֝עֲנָפֶ֗יהָ hā·rîm kās·sū ṣil·lāh ’êl ’ar·zê- wa·‘ă·nā·p̄e·hā — WLC · 10

It sent out its branches to the Sea, and its shoots toward the River.

תְּשַׁלַּ֣ח קְצִירֶ֣הָ עַד־ יָ֑ם יֽוֹנְקוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ וְאֶל־ נָ֝הָ֗ר tə·šal·laḥ qə·ṣî·re·hā ‘aḏ- yām yō·wn·qō·w·ṯe·hā wə·’el- nā·hār — WLC · 11

Why have You broken down its walls, so that all who pass by… pick its fruit?

לָ֭מָּה פָּרַ֣צְתָּ גְדֵרֶ֑יהָ כָּל־ עֹ֥בְרֵי דָֽרֶךְ׃ וְ֝אָר֗וּהָ lām·māh pā·raṣ·tā ḡə·ḏê·re·hā kāl- ‘ō·ḇə·rê ḏā·reḵ wə·’ā·rū·hā — WLC · 12

The boar from the forest ravages it, and the creatures of the field feed upon it.

חֲזִ֣יר מִיָּ֑עַר יְכַרְסְמֶ֣נָּֽה וְזִ֖יז שָׂדַ֣י יִרְעֶֽנָּה׃ ḥă·zîr mī·yå̄·ʿar yə·ḵar·sə·men·nāh wə·zîz śā·ḏay yir·‘en·nāh — WLC · 13

Return, O God of Hosts, we pray! Look down from heaven and see! Attend to this vine—

שֽׁ֫וּב־ אֱלֹהִ֣ים צְבָאוֹת֮ נָ֥א הַבֵּ֣ט מִשָּׁמַ֣יִם וּרְאֵ֑ה וּ֝פְקֹ֗ד זֹֽאת׃ גֶּ֣פֶן šūḇ- ’ĕ·lō·hîm ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ nā hab·bêṭ miš·šā·ma·yim ū·rə·’êh ū·p̄ə·qōḏ zōṯ ge·p̄en — WLC · 14

the root Your right hand… has planted, the son You have raised up for Yourself.

וְ֭כַנָּה אֲשֶׁר־ יְמִינֶ֑ךָ וְעַל־ נָטְעָ֣ה בֵּ֝֗ן אִמַּ֥צְתָּה לָּֽךְ׃ wə·ḵan·nāh ’ă·šer- yə·mî·ne·ḵā wə·‘al- nā·ṭə·‘āh bên ’im·maṣ·tāh lāḵ — WLC · 15

[Your vine] has been cut down and burned…; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.

כְּסוּחָ֑ה שְׂרֻפָ֣ה בָאֵ֣שׁ יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ מִגַּעֲרַ֖ת פָּנֶ֣יךָ kə·sū·ḥāh śə·ru·p̄āh ḇā·’êš yō·ḇê·ḏū mig·ga·‘ă·raṯ pā·ne·ḵā — WLC · 16

Let Your hand be upon the man at Your right hand, on the son of man You have raised up for Yourself.

יָ֭דְךָ תְּֽהִי־ עַל־ אִ֣ישׁ יְמִינֶ֑ךָ עַל־ בֶּן־ אָ֝דָ֗ם אִמַּ֥צְתָּ לָּֽךְ׃ yā·ḏə·ḵā tə·hî- ‘al- ’îš yə·mî·ne·ḵā ‘al- ben- ’ā·ḏām ’im·maṣ·tā lāḵ — WLC · 17

Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.

וְלֹא־ נָס֥וֹג מִמֶּ֑ךָּ תְּ֝חַיֵּ֗נוּ נִקְרָֽא׃ וּבְשִׁמְךָ֥ wə·lō- nā·sō·wḡ mim·me·kā tə·ḥay·yê·nū niq·rā ū·ḇə·šim·ḵā — WLC · 18
