Chapter 125
The LORD Surrounds His People
1
A song of ascents. 1Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be moved; it abides forever.
𐤔𐤉𐤓 𐤄𐤌𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 𐤄𐤁𐤈𐤇𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤊𐤄𐤓 𐤑𐤉𐤅𐤍 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤌𐤅𐤈 𐤉𐤔𐤁 𐤋𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌
שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים בַּיהוָ֑ה כְּֽהַר־ צִיּ֥וֹן לֹא־ יִ֝מּ֗וֹט יֵשֵֽׁב׃ לְעוֹלָ֥ם šîr ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ hab·bō·ṭə·ḥîm Yah·weh kə·har- ṣî·yō·wn lō- yim·mō·wṭ yê·šêḇ lə·‘ō·w·lām — WLC · 1

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people, both now and forevermore…

הָרִים֮ סָבִ֪יב לָ֥הּ יְֽרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם וַ֭יהוָה סָבִ֣יב לְעַמּ֑וֹ מֵ֝עַתָּ֗ה וְעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃ hā·rîm sā·ḇîḇ lāh yə·rū·šā·lim Yah·weh sā·ḇîḇ lə·‘am·mōw mê·‘at·tāh wə·‘aḏ- ‘ō·w·lām — WLC · 2

For the scepter of the wicked will not rest upon the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to injustice.
𐤊𐤉 𐤔𐤁𐤈 𐤄𐤓𐤔𐤏 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤍𐤅𐤇 𐤏𐤋 𐤂𐤅𐤓𐤋 𐤄𐤑𐤃𐤉𐤒𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤌𐤏𐤍 𐤄𐤑𐤃𐤉𐤒𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤅 𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤄𐤌 𐤁𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤕𐤄
כִּ֤י שֵׁ֤בֶט הָרֶ֗שַׁע לֹ֪א יָנ֡וּחַ עַל֮ גּוֹרַ֪ל הַֽצַּדִּ֫יקִ֥ים לְמַ֡עַן הַצַּדִּיקִ֨ים לֹא־ יִשְׁלְח֖וּ יְדֵיהֶֽם׃ בְּעַוְלָ֬תָה kî šê·ḇeṭ hā·re·ša‘ lō yā·nū·aḥ ‘al gō·w·ral haṣ·ṣad·dî·qîm lə·ma·‘an haṣ·ṣad·dî·qîm lō- yiš·lə·ḥū yə·ḏê·hem bə·‘aw·lā·ṯāh — WLC · 3

Do good, O LORD, to [those who are] good, and to the upright in heart.
𐤄𐤉𐤈𐤉𐤁𐤄 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤋𐤈𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤋𐤁𐤅𐤕𐤌
הֵיטִ֣יבָה יְ֭הוָה לַטּוֹבִ֑ים וְ֝לִֽישָׁרִ֗ים בְּלִבּוֹתָֽם׃ hê·ṭî·ḇāh Yah·weh laṭ·ṭō·w·ḇîm wə·lî·šā·rîm bə·lib·bō·w·ṯām — WLC · 4

But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD… will banish with the evildoers… Peace be upon Israel.

וְהַמַּטִּ֤ים עַֽקַלְקַלּוֹתָ֗ם יְ֭הוָה אֶת־ יוֹלִיכֵ֣ם פֹּעֲלֵ֣י הָאָ֑וֶן שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ wə·ham·maṭ·ṭîm ‘a·qal·qal·lō·w·ṯām Yah·weh ’eṯ- yō·w·lî·ḵêm pō·‘ă·lê hā·’ā·wen šā·lôm ‘al- yiś·rā·’êl — WLC · 5
