To Your Name Be the Glory

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness.

Why should the nations say, “Where… is their God?”
𐤋𐤌𐤄 𐤄𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 𐤀𐤉𐤄 𐤍𐤀 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤄𐤌
לָ֭מָּה הַגּוֹיִ֑ם יֹאמְר֣וּ אַיֵּה־ נָ֝֗א אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ lām·māh hag·gō·w·yim yō·mə·rū ’ay·yêh- nā ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem — WLC · 2

Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases.
𐤅𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤊𐤋 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤇𐤐𐤑
וֵֽאלֹהֵ֥ינוּ בַשָּׁמָ֑יִם עָשָֽׂה׃ כֹּ֭ל אֲשֶׁר־ חָפֵ֣ץ wê·lō·hê·nū ḇaš·šā·mā·yim ‘ā·śāh kōl ’ă·šer- ḥā·p̄êṣ — WLC · 3

Their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

עֲֽ֭צַבֵּיהֶם כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֑ב מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָֽם׃ ‘ăṣab·bê·hem ke·sep̄ wə·zā·hāḇ ma·‘ă·śêh yə·ḏê ’ā·ḏām — WLC · 4

They have mouths…, but cannot speak; they have eyes…, but cannot see;

פֶּֽה־ לָ֭הֶם וְלֹ֣א יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ עֵינַ֥יִם לָ֝הֶ֗ם וְלֹ֣א יִרְאֽוּ׃ peh- lā·hem wə·lō yə·ḏab·bê·rū ‘ê·na·yim lā·hem wə·lō yir·’ū — WLC · 5

they have ears but cannot hear; they have noses but cannot smell;
𐤀𐤆𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅 𐤀𐤐 𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤓𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤍
אָזְנַ֣יִם לָ֭הֶם וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמָ֑עוּ אַ֥ף לָ֝הֶ֗ם וְלֹ֣א יְרִיחֽוּן׃ ’ā·zə·na·yim lā·hem wə·lō yiš·mā·‘ū ’ap̄ lā·hem wə·lō yə·rî·ḥūn — WLC · 6

they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats.

יְדֵיהֶ֤ם׀ וְלֹ֬א יְמִישׁ֗וּן רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם וְלֹ֣א יְהַלֵּ֑כוּ לֹֽא־ יֶ֝הְגּ֗וּ בִּגְרוֹנָֽם׃ yə·ḏê·hem wə·lō yə·mî·šūn raḡ·lê·hem wə·lō yə·hal·lê·ḵū lō- yeh·gū biḡ·rō·w·nām — WLC · 7

Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.

עֹשֵׂיהֶ֑ם יִהְי֣וּ כְּ֭מוֹהֶם כֹּ֭ל אֲשֶׁר־ בֹּטֵ֣חַ בָּהֶֽם׃ ‘ō·śê·hem yih·yū kə·mō·w·hem kōl ’ă·šer- bō·ṭê·aḥ bā·hem — WLC · 8

O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

בֵּ֣ית אַ֭הֲרֹן בִּטְח֣וּ בַיהוָ֑ה הֽוּא׃ עֶזְרָ֖ם וּמָגִנָּ֣ם bêṯ ’a·hă·rōn biṭ·ḥū Yah·weh hū ‘ez·rām ū·mā·ḡin·nām — WLC · 10

You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

יִרְאֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה בִּטְח֣וּ בַיהוָ֑ה הֽוּא׃ עֶזְרָ֖ם וּמָגִנָּ֣ם yir·’ê Yah·weh biṭ·ḥū Yah·weh hū ‘ez·rām ū·mā·ḡin·nām — WLC · 11

The LORD is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron;
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤆𐤊𐤓𐤍𐤅 𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤉𐤕 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍
יְהוָה֮ זְכָרָ֪נוּ יְבָ֫רֵ֥ךְ יְ֭בָרֵךְ אֶת־ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יְ֝בָרֵ֗ךְ אֶת־ בֵּ֥ית אַהֲרֹֽן׃ Yah·weh zə·ḵā·rā·nū yə·ḇā·rêḵ yə·ḇā·rêḵ ’eṯ- bêṯ yiś·rā·’êl yə·ḇā·rêḵ ’eṯ- bêṯ ’a·hă·rōn — WLC · 12

He will bless those who fear the LORD— small and great alike.

יְ֭בָרֵךְ יִרְאֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה הַ֝קְּטַנִּ֗ים עִם־ הַגְּדֹלִֽים׃ yə·ḇā·rêḵ yir·’ê Yah·weh haq·qə·ṭan·nîm ‘im- hag·gə·ḏō·lîm — WLC · 13

May the LORD give you increase…, both you and your children.

יְהוָ֣ה יֹסֵ֣ף עֲלֵיכֶ֑ם עֲ֝לֵיכֶ֗ם וְעַל־ בְּנֵיכֶֽם׃ Yah·weh yō·sêp̄ ‘ă·lê·ḵem ‘ă·lê·ḵem wə·‘al- bə·nê·ḵem — WLC · 14

May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
𐤀𐤕𐤌 𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤑
אַ֭תֶּם בְּרוּכִ֣ים לַיהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃ ’at·tem bə·rū·ḵîm Yah·weh ‘ō·śêh šā·ma·yim wā·’ā·reṣ — WLC · 15

The highest heavens… belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given vvv to mankind.
𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤀𐤃𐤌
הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם שָׁ֭מַיִם לַיהוָ֑ה וְ֝הָאָ֗רֶץ נָתַ֥ן לִבְנֵי־ אָדָֽם׃ haš·šā·ma·yim šā·ma·yim Yah·weh wə·hā·’ā·reṣ nā·ṯan liḇ·nê- ’ā·ḏām — WLC · 16

It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.
𐤋𐤀 𐤄𐤌𐤕𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤋𐤋𐤅 𐤉𐤄 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤉 𐤃𐤅𐤌𐤄
לֹ֣א הַ֭מֵּתִים יְהַֽלְלוּ־ יָ֑הּ וְ֝לֹ֗א כָּל־ יֹרְדֵ֥י דוּמָֽה׃ lō ham·mê·ṯîm yə·hal·lū- yāh wə·lō kāl- yō·rə·ḏê ḏū·māh — WLC · 17

But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore… Hallelujah…!
