Bless the LORD, O My Soul

Of David. 1Bless the LORD, O my soul -; all that is within me, [bless] His holy name.

לְדָוִ֨ד׀ בָּרֲכִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה נַ֭פְשִׁי אֶת־ וְכָל־ קְ֝רָבַ֗י אֶת־ קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ שֵׁ֥ם lə·ḏā·wiḏ bā·ră·ḵî Yah·weh nap̄·šî ’eṯ- wə·ḵāl qə·rā·ḇay ’eṯ- qā·ḏə·šōw šêm — WLC · 1

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds—

בָּרֲכִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה נַ֭פְשִׁי אֶת־ וְאַל־ תִּ֝שְׁכְּחִ֗י כָּל־ גְּמוּלָֽיו׃ bā·ră·ḵî Yah·weh nap̄·šî ’eṯ- wə·’al- tiš·kə·ḥî kāl- gə·mū·lāw — WLC · 2

He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases,
𐤄𐤎𐤋𐤇 𐤋𐤊𐤋 𐤏𐤅𐤍𐤊𐤉 𐤄𐤓𐤐𐤀 𐤋𐤊𐤋 𐤕𐤇𐤋𐤀𐤉𐤊𐤉
הַסֹּלֵ֥חַ לְכָל־ עֲוֺנֵ֑כִי הָ֝רֹפֵ֗א לְכָל־ תַּחֲלֻאָֽיְכִי׃ has·sō·lê·aḥ lə·ḵāl ‘ă·wō·nê·ḵî hā·rō·p̄ê lə·ḵāl ta·ḥă·lu·’ā·yə·ḵî — WLC · 3

who redeems your life from the Pit [and] crowns you with loving devotion and compassion,
𐤄𐤂𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤊𐤉 𐤌𐤔𐤇𐤕 𐤄𐤌𐤏𐤈𐤓𐤊𐤉 𐤇𐤎𐤃 𐤅𐤓𐤇𐤌𐤉𐤌
הַגּוֹאֵ֣ל חַיָּ֑יְכִי מִשַּׁ֣חַת הַֽ֝מְעַטְּרֵ֗כִי חֶ֣סֶד וְרַחֲמִֽים׃ hag·gō·w·’êl ḥay·yā·yə·ḵî miš·ša·ḥaṯ ham·‘aṭ·ṭə·rê·ḵî ḥe·seḏ wə·ra·ḥă·mîm — WLC · 4

who satisfies you with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

הַמַּשְׂבִּ֣יַע בַּטּ֣וֹב עֶדְיֵ֑ךְ נְעוּרָֽיְכִי׃ תִּתְחַדֵּ֖שׁ כַּנֶּ֣שֶׁר ham·maś·bi·ya‘ baṭ·ṭō·wḇ ‘eḏ·yêḵ nə·‘ū·rā·yə·ḵî tiṯ·ḥad·dêš kan·ne·šer — WLC · 5

The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤑𐤃𐤒𐤅𐤕 𐤅𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤊𐤋 𐤏𐤔𐤅𐤒𐤉𐤌
יְהוָ֑ה עֹשֵׂ֣ה צְדָק֣וֹת וּ֝מִשְׁפָּטִ֗ים לְכָל־ עֲשׁוּקִֽים׃ Yah·weh ‘ō·śêh ṣə·ḏā·qō·wṯ ū·miš·pā·ṭîm lə·ḵāl ‘ă·šū·qîm — WLC · 6

He made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel.
𐤉𐤅𐤃𐤉𐤏 𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤉𐤅 𐤋𐤌𐤔𐤄 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤅𐤕𐤉𐤅 𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋
יוֹדִ֣יעַ דְּרָכָ֣יו לְמֹשֶׁ֑ה עֲלִילֽוֹתָיו׃ לִבְנֵ֥י יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל yō·w·ḏî·a‘ də·rā·ḵāw lə·mō·šeh ‘ă·lî·lō·w·ṯāw liḇ·nê yiś·rā·’êl — WLC · 7

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion.
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤓𐤇𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤇𐤍𐤅𐤍 𐤀𐤓𐤊 𐤀𐤐𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤓𐤁 𐤇𐤎𐤃
יְהוָ֑ה רַח֣וּם וְחַנּ֣וּן אֶ֖רֶךְ אַפַּ֣יִם וְרַב־ חָֽסֶד׃ Yah·weh ra·ḥūm wə·ḥan·nūn ’e·reḵ ’ap·pa·yim wə·raḇ- ḥā·seḏ — WLC · 8
9
He will not always accuse us, nor harbor [His anger] forever.
𐤋𐤀 𐤋𐤍𐤑𐤇 𐤉𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤈𐤅𐤓 𐤋𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌
לֹֽא־ לָנֶ֥צַח יָרִ֑יב וְלֹ֖א יִטּֽוֹר׃ לְעוֹלָ֣ם lō- lā·ne·ṣaḥ yā·rîḇ wə·lō yiṭ·ṭō·wr lə·‘ō·w·lām — WLC · 9

He has not dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our iniquities.
𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤋𐤍𐤅 𐤊𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤂𐤌𐤋 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤅 𐤊𐤏𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅
לֹ֣א עָ֣שָׂה וְלֹ֥א לָ֑נוּ כַ֭חֲטָאֵינוּ גָּמַ֥ל עָלֵֽינוּ׃ כַ֝עֲוֺנֹתֵ֗ינוּ lō ‘ā·śāh wə·lō lā·nū ḵa·ḥă·ṭā·’ê·nū gā·mal ‘ā·lê·nū ḵa·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·nū — WLC · 10

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him.
𐤊𐤉 𐤊𐤂𐤁𐤄 𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤂𐤁𐤓 𐤇𐤎𐤃𐤅 𐤏𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤅
כִּ֤י כִגְבֹ֣הַּ שָׁ֭מַיִם עַל־ הָאָ֑רֶץ גָּבַ֥ר חַ֝סְדּ֗וֹ עַל־ יְרֵאָֽיו׃ kî ḵiḡ·ḇō·ah šā·ma·yim ‘al- hā·’ā·reṣ gā·ḇar ḥas·dōw ‘al- yə·rê·’āw — WLC · 11

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
𐤊𐤓𐤇𐤒 𐤌𐤆𐤓𐤇 𐤌𐤌𐤍𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤌𐤌𐤏𐤓𐤁 𐤄𐤓𐤇𐤉𐤒 𐤐𐤔𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤅
כִּרְחֹ֣ק מִ֭זְרָח מִ֝מֶּ֗נּוּ אֶת־ מִֽמַּֽעֲרָ֑ב הִֽרְחִ֥יק פְּשָׁעֵֽינוּ׃ kir·ḥōq miz·rāḥ mim·men·nū ’eṯ- mim·ma·‘ă·rāḇ hir·ḥîq pə·šā·‘ê·nū — WLC · 12

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
𐤀𐤁 𐤊𐤓𐤇𐤌 𐤏𐤋 𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤓𐤇𐤌 𐤏𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤅
אָ֭ב כְּרַחֵ֣ם עַל־ בָּנִ֑ים יְ֝הוָ֗ה רִחַ֥ם עַל־ יְרֵאָֽיו׃ ’āḇ kə·ra·ḥêm ‘al- bā·nîm Yah·weh ri·ḥam ‘al- yə·rê·’āw — WLC · 13
14
For He knows our frame; He is mindful that we are dust.
𐤊𐤉 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤉𐤃𐤏 𐤉𐤑𐤓𐤍𐤅 𐤆𐤊𐤅𐤓 𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤍𐤇𐤍𐤅 𐤏𐤐𐤓
כִּי־ ה֖וּא יָדַ֣ע יִצְרֵ֑נוּ זָ֝כ֗וּר כִּי־ אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ עָפָ֥ר kî- hū yā·ḏa‘ yiṣ·rê·nū zā·ḵūr kî- ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū ‘ā·p̄ār — WLC · 14
15
As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field…;
𐤀𐤍𐤅𐤔 𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤅 𐤊𐤇𐤑𐤉𐤓 𐤉𐤑𐤉𐤑 𐤊𐤑𐤉𐤑 𐤄𐤔𐤃𐤄 𐤊𐤍
אֱ֭נוֹשׁ יָמָ֑יו כֶּחָצִ֣יר יָצִֽיץ׃ כְּצִ֥יץ הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה כֵּ֣ן ’ĕ·nō·wōš yā·māw ke·ḥā·ṣîr yā·ṣîṣ kə·ṣîṣ haś·śā·ḏeh kên — WLC · 15
16
when the wind passes over, it vanishes, and its place remembers it no more.
𐤊𐤉 𐤓𐤅𐤇 𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤄 𐤁𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤍𐤍𐤅 𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌𐤅 𐤉𐤊𐤉𐤓𐤍𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤅𐤃
כִּ֤י ר֣וּחַ עָֽבְרָה־ בּ֣וֹ וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃ יַכִּירֶ֖נּוּ וְלֹא־ ע֣וֹד kî rū·aḥ ‘ā·ḇə·rāh- bōw wə·’ê·nen·nū mə·qō·w·mōw yak·kî·ren·nū wə·lō- ‘ō·wḏ — WLC · 16
17
But from everlasting to everlasting the loving devotion of the LORD extends to those who fear Him, and His righteousness to their children’s children—
𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 𐤅𐤏𐤃 𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 𐤅𐤇𐤎𐤃 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤏𐤋 𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤑𐤃𐤒𐤕𐤅 𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌
מֵעוֹלָ֣ם וְעַד־ ע֭וֹלָם וְחֶ֤סֶד יְהוָ֨ה׀ עַל־ יְרֵאָ֑יו וְ֝צִדְקָת֗וֹ לִבְנֵ֥י בָנִֽים׃ mê·‘ō·w·lām wə·‘aḏ- ‘ō·w·lām wə·ḥe·seḏ Yah·weh ‘al- yə·rê·’āw wə·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯōw liḇ·nê ḇā·nîm — WLC · 17

to those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts.
𐤋𐤔𐤌𐤓𐤉 𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤕𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤆𐤊𐤓𐤉 𐤋𐤏𐤔𐤅𐤕𐤌 𐤐𐤒𐤃𐤉𐤅
לְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י בְרִית֑וֹ וּלְזֹכְרֵ֥י לַעֲשׂוֹתָֽם׃ פִ֝קֻּדָ֗יו lə·šō·mə·rê ḇə·rî·ṯōw ū·lə·zō·ḵə·rê la·‘ă·śō·w·ṯām p̄iq·qu·ḏāw — WLC · 18
19
The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.
𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤄𐤊𐤉𐤍 𐤊𐤎𐤀𐤅 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤅𐤕𐤅 𐤌𐤔𐤋𐤄 𐤁𐤊𐤋
יְֽהוָ֗ה הֵכִ֣ין כִּסְא֑וֹ בַּ֭שָּׁמַיִם וּ֝מַלְכוּת֗וֹ מָשָֽׁלָה׃ בַּכֹּ֥ל Yah·weh hê·ḵîn kis·’ōw baš·šā·ma·yim ū·mal·ḵū·ṯōw mā·šā·lāh bak·kōl — WLC · 19
20
Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who hearken to the voice of His command.

בָּרֲכ֥וּ יְהוָ֗ה מַלְאָ֫כָ֥יו גִּבֹּ֣רֵי כֹ֭חַ עֹשֵׂ֣י דְבָר֑וֹ לִ֝שְׁמֹ֗עַ בְּק֣וֹל דְּבָרֽוֹ׃ bā·ră·ḵū Yah·weh mal·’ā·ḵāw gib·bō·rê ḵō·aḥ ‘ō·śê ḏə·ḇā·rōw liš·mō·a‘ bə·qō·wl də·ḇā·rōw — WLC · 20

Bless the LORD, all His hosts, you servants who do His will.

בָּרֲכ֣וּ יְ֭הוָה כָּל־ צְבָאָ֑יו מְ֝שָׁרְתָ֗יו עֹשֵׂ֥י רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃ bā·ră·ḵū Yah·weh kāl- ṣə·ḇā·’āw mə·šā·rə·ṯāw ‘ō·śê rə·ṣō·w·nōw — WLC · 21

Bless the LORD, all His works in all places of His dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul -!
