BOOK I Psalms 1–41 The Two Paths

Blessed [is] the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.
𐤀𐤔𐤓𐤉 𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤄𐤋𐤊 𐤁𐤏𐤑𐤕 𐤓𐤔𐤏𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤏𐤌𐤃 𐤅𐤁𐤃𐤓𐤊 𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤁 𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤅𐤔𐤁 𐤋𐤑𐤉𐤌
אַ֥שְֽׁרֵי־ הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר׀ לֹ֥א הָלַךְ֮ בַּעֲצַ֪ת רְשָׁ֫עִ֥ים לֹ֥א עָמָ֑ד וּבְדֶ֣רֶךְ חַ֭טָּאִים לֹ֣א יָשָֽׁב׃ וּבְמוֹשַׁ֥ב לֵ֝צִ֗ים ’aš·rê- hā·’îš ’ă·šer lō hā·laḵ ba·‘ă·ṣaṯ rə·šā·‘îm lō ‘ā·māḏ ū·ḇə·ḏe·reḵ ḥaṭ·ṭā·’îm lō yā·šāḇ ū·ḇə·mō·wō·šaḇ lê·ṣîm — WLC · 1

But… his delight [is] in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.
𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤌 𐤇𐤐𐤑𐤅 𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕𐤅 𐤉𐤄𐤂𐤄 𐤉𐤅𐤌𐤌 𐤅𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄
כִּ֤י אִ֥ם חֶ֫פְצ֥וֹ בְּתוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֗ה וּֽבְתוֹרָת֥וֹ יֶהְגֶּ֗ה יוֹמָ֥ם וָלָֽיְלָה׃ kî ’im ḥep̄·ṣōw bə·ṯō·w·raṯ Yah·weh ū·ḇə·ṯō·w·rā·ṯōw yeh·geh yō·w·mām wā·lā·yə·lāh — WLC · 2

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, vvv yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.

וְֽהָיָ֗ה כְּעֵץ֮ שָׁת֪וּל עַֽל־ פַּלְגֵ֫י מָ֥יִם אֲשֶׁ֤ר יִתֵּ֬ן פִּרְי֨וֹ׀ בְּעִתּ֗וֹ וְעָלֵ֥הוּ לֹֽא־ יִבּ֑וֹל וְכֹ֖ל יַצְלִֽיחַ׃ אֲשֶׁר־ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה wə·hā·yāh kə·‘êṣ šā·ṯūl ‘al- pal·ḡê mā·yim ’ă·šer yit·tên pir·yōw bə·‘it·tōw wə·‘ā·lê·hū lō- yib·bō·wl wə·ḵōl yaṣ·lî·aḥ ’ă·šer- ya·‘ă·śeh — WLC · 3

Not so the wicked! For [they are] like chaff driven off by the wind.
𐤋𐤀 𐤊𐤍 𐤄𐤓𐤔𐤏𐤉𐤌 𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤌 𐤊𐤌𐤑 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤕𐤃𐤐𐤍𐤅 𐤓𐤅𐤇
לֹא־ כֵ֥ן הָרְשָׁעִ֑ים כִּ֥י אִם־ כַּ֝מֹּ֗ץ אֲֽשֶׁר־ תִּדְּפֶ֥נּוּ רֽוּחַ׃ lō- ḵên hā·rə·šā·‘îm kî ’im- kam·mōṣ ’ăšer- tid·də·p̄en·nū rū·aḥ — WLC · 4

Therefore… the wicked {will} not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
𐤏𐤋 𐤊𐤍 𐤓𐤔𐤏𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤒𐤌𐤅 𐤁𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤈 𐤅𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤏𐤃𐤕 𐤑𐤃𐤉𐤒𐤉𐤌
עַל־ כֵּ֤ן׀ רְ֭שָׁעִים לֹא־ יָקֻ֣מוּ בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט וְ֝חַטָּאִ֗ים בַּעֲדַ֥ת צַדִּיקִֽים׃ ‘al- kên rə·šā·‘îm lō- yā·qu·mū bam·miš·pāṭ wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·’îm ba·‘ă·ḏaṯ ṣad·dî·qîm — WLC · 5

For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
