Chapter 6

The Nazirite Vow

1

And the LORD… said to Moses…,

𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤋 𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤌𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓

יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ Yah·weh ’el- way·ḏab·bêr mō·šeh lê·mōrWLC · 1

“Speak to the Israelites… and tell them that if a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD,

𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤀𐤋 𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤊𐤉 𐤀𐤉𐤔 𐤀𐤅 𐤀𐤔𐤄 𐤉𐤐𐤋𐤀 𐤋𐤍𐤃𐤓 𐤍𐤃𐤓 𐤍𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤋𐤄𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄

דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כִּ֤י אִ֣ישׁ אֽוֹ־ אִשָּׁ֗ה יַפְלִא֙ לִנְדֹּר֙ נֶ֣דֶר נָזִ֔יר לְהַזִּ֖יר לַֽיהוָֽה׃ dab·bêr ’el- bə·nê yiś·rā·’êl wə·’ā·mar·tā ’ă·lê·hem kî ’îš ’ōw- ’iš·šāh yap̄·li lin·dōr ne·ḏer nā·zîr lə·haz·zîr Yah·wehWLC · 2

he is to abstain from wine and strong drink. He must not drink vinegar made from wine… [or] strong drink, and he must not drink any grape juice or eat fresh grapes or raisins…

𐤉𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤌𐤉𐤉𐤍 𐤅𐤔𐤊𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤄 𐤇𐤌𐤑 𐤉𐤉𐤍 𐤅𐤇𐤌𐤑 𐤔𐤊𐤓 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤊𐤋 𐤏𐤍𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤌𐤔𐤓𐤕 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤋𐤇𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤏𐤍𐤁𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤔𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤀

יַזִּ֔יר מִיַּ֤יִן וְשֵׁכָר֙ לֹ֣א יִשְׁתֶּ֑ה חֹ֥מֶץ יַ֛יִן וְחֹ֥מֶץ שֵׁכָ֖ר לֹ֣א יִשְׁתֶּ֔ה וְכָל־ עֲנָבִים֙ מִשְׁרַ֤ת יֹאכֵֽל׃ לַחִ֥ים וַעֲנָבִ֛ים וִיבֵשִׁ֖ים לֹ֥א yaz·zîr mî·ya·yin wə·šê·ḵār lō yiš·teh ḥō·meṣ ya·yin wə·ḥō·meṣ šê·ḵār lō yiš·teh wə·ḵāl ‘ă·nā·ḇîm miš·raṯ yō·ḵêl la·ḥîm wa·‘ă·nā·ḇîm wî·ḇê·šîm lōWLC · 3

All the days of his separation, he is not to eat anything that comes from the grapevine…, not even the seeds or skins.

𐤊𐤋 𐤌𐤊𐤋 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤌𐤂𐤐𐤍 𐤄𐤉𐤉𐤍 𐤌𐤇𐤓𐤑𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤏𐤃 𐤆𐤂

כֹּ֖ל מִכֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְמֵ֣י נִזְר֑וֹ לֹ֥א יֹאכֵֽל׃ יֵעָשֶׂ֜ה מִגֶּ֣פֶן הַיַּ֗יִן מֵחַרְצַנִּ֛ים וְעַד־ זָ֖ג kōl mik·kōl ’ă·šer yə·mê niz·rōw lō yō·ḵêl yê·‘ā·śeh mig·ge·p̄en hay·ya·yin mê·ḥar·ṣan·nîm wə·‘aḏ- zāḡWLC · 4

For the entire period of his vow of separation, no razor shall touch… his head. He must be holy until the time of his separation to the LORD is complete; he must let the hair of his head grow long.

𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤍𐤃𐤓 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤀 𐤕𐤏𐤓 𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤓 𐤏𐤋 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤏𐤃 𐤄𐤉𐤌𐤌 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤉𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤕 𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅 𐤂𐤃𐤋 𐤐𐤓𐤏

כָּל־ יְמֵי֙ נֶ֣דֶר נִזְר֔וֹ לֹא־ תַּ֖עַר יַעֲבֹ֣ר עַל־ רֹאשׁ֑וֹ יִהְיֶ֔ה קָדֹ֣שׁ עַד־ הַיָּמִ֜ם אֲשֶׁר־ יַזִּ֤יר לַיהוָה֙ מְלֹ֨את שְׂעַ֥ר רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ גַּדֵּ֥ל פֶּ֖רַע kāl- yə·mê ne·ḏer niz·rōw lō- ta·‘ar ya·‘ă·ḇōr ‘al- rō·šōw yih·yeh qā·ḏōš ‘aḏ- hay·yā·mim ’ă·šer- yaz·zîr Yah·weh mə·lōṯ śə·‘ar rō·šōw gad·dêl pe·ra‘WLC · 5

Throughout the days of his separation to the LORD, he must not go near a dead body.

𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤄𐤆𐤉𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤁𐤀 𐤏𐤋 𐤌𐤕 𐤍𐤐𐤔

כָּל־ יְמֵ֥י הַזִּיר֖וֹ לַיהוָ֑ה לֹ֥א יָבֹֽא׃ עַל־ מֵ֖ת נֶ֥פֶשׁ kāl- yə·mê haz·zî·rōw Yah·weh lō yā·ḇō ‘al- mêṯ ne·p̄ešWLC · 6

Even if his father or mother or brother or sister should die, he is not to defile himself because the symbol of consecration to his God is upon his head.

𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤅 𐤋𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤇𐤕𐤅 𐤁𐤌𐤕𐤌 𐤋𐤀 𐤉𐤈𐤌𐤀 𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤊𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤅 𐤏𐤋 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅

לְאָבִ֣יו וּלְאִמּ֗וֹ לְאָחִיו֙ וּלְאַ֣חֹת֔וֹ בְּמֹתָ֑ם לֹא־ יִטַּמָּ֥א לָהֶ֖ם כִּ֛י נֵ֥זֶר אֱלֹהָ֖יו עַל־ רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ lə·’ā·ḇîw ū·lə·’im·mōw lə·’ā·ḥîw ū·lə·’a·ḥō·ṯōw bə·mō·ṯām lō- yiṭ·ṭam·mā lā·hem kî nê·zer ’ĕ·lō·hāw ‘al- rō·šōwWLC · 7

Throughout the time… of his separation, he is holy to the LORD.

𐤊𐤋 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄

כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י נִזְר֑וֹ ה֖וּא קָדֹ֥שׁ לַֽיהוָֽה׃ kōl yə·mê niz·rōw hū qā·ḏōš Yah·wehWLC · 8

If someone suddenly… dies… in his presence and defiles his consecrated head of hair, he must shave his head on the day of his cleansing— the seventh day.

𐤅𐤊𐤉 𐤁𐤐𐤕𐤏 𐤐𐤕𐤀𐤌 𐤉𐤌𐤅𐤕 𐤌𐤕 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤅𐤈𐤌𐤀 𐤓𐤀𐤔 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤅𐤂𐤋𐤇 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤈𐤄𐤓𐤕𐤅 𐤉𐤂𐤋𐤇𐤍𐤅 𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤉𐤏𐤉 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌

וְכִֽי־ בְּפֶ֣תַע פִּתְאֹ֔ם יָמ֨וּת מֵ֤ת עָלָיו֙ וְטִמֵּ֖א רֹ֣אשׁ נִזְר֑וֹ וְגִלַּ֤ח רֹאשׁוֹ֙ בְּי֣וֹם טָהֳרָת֔וֹ יְגַלְּחֶֽנּוּ׃ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י בַּיּ֥וֹם wə·ḵî- bə·p̄e·ṯa‘ piṯ·’ōm yā·mūṯ mêṯ ‘ā·lāw wə·ṭim·mê rōš niz·rōw wə·ḡil·laḥ rō·šōw bə·yō·wm ṭā·ho·rā·ṯōw yə·ḡal·lə·ḥen·nū haš·šə·ḇî·‘î bay·yō·wmWLC · 9

On the eighth day he must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤁𐤀 𐤔𐤕𐤉 𐤕𐤓𐤉𐤌 𐤀𐤅 𐤔𐤍𐤉 𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤅𐤍𐤄 𐤀𐤋 𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤀𐤋 𐤐𐤕𐤇 𐤀𐤄𐤋 𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤃

הַשְּׁמִינִ֗י וּבַיּ֣וֹם יָבִא֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י תֹרִ֔ים א֥וֹ שְׁנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יוֹנָ֑ה אֶל־ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֶל־ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ haš·šə·mî·nî ū·ḇay·yō·wm yā·ḇi šə·tê ṯō·rîm ’ōw šə·nê bə·nê yō·w·nāh ’el- hak·kō·hên ’el- pe·ṯaḥ ’ō·hel mō·w·‘êḏWLC · 10

And the priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make atonement for him, because he has sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. On that day he must consecrate his head again.

𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤋𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤋𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤅𐤊𐤐𐤓 𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅 𐤌𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤇𐤈𐤀 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤔 𐤄𐤄𐤅𐤀 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤅𐤒𐤃𐤔 𐤀𐤕 𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤅

הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְעָשָׂ֣ה אֶחָ֤ד לְחַטָּאת֙ וְאֶחָ֣ד לְעֹלָ֔ה וְכִפֶּ֣ר עָלָ֔יו מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖א עַל־ הַנָּ֑פֶשׁ הַהֽוּא׃ בַּיּ֥וֹם וְקִדַּ֥שׁ אֶת־ רֹאשׁ֖וֹ hak·kō·hên wə·‘ā·śāh ’e·ḥāḏ lə·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ wə·’e·ḥāḏ lə·‘ō·lāh wə·ḵip·per ‘ā·lāw mê·’ă·šer ḥā·ṭā ‘al- han·nā·p̄eš ha·hū bay·yō·wm wə·qid·daš ’eṯ- rō·šōwWLC · 11

He must rededicate his time of separation to the LORD and bring a year-old… male lamb as a guilt offering. But the preceding days shall not be counted, because his separation was defiled.

𐤅𐤄𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤀 𐤁𐤍 𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤅 𐤊𐤁𐤔 𐤋𐤀𐤔𐤌 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤄𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤉𐤐𐤋𐤅 𐤊𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤈𐤌𐤀

וְהִזִּ֤יר יְמֵ֣י נִזְר֔וֹ לַֽיהוָה֙ אֶת־ וְהֵבִ֛יא בֶּן־ שְׁנָת֖וֹ כֶּ֥בֶשׂ לְאָשָׁ֑ם הָרִאשֹׁנִים֙ וְהַיָּמִ֤ים יִפְּל֔וּ כִּ֥י נִזְרֽוֹ׃ טָמֵ֖א wə·hiz·zîr yə·mê niz·rōw Yah·weh ’eṯ- wə·hê·ḇî ben- šə·nā·ṯōw ke·ḇeś lə·’ā·šām hā·ri·šō·nîm wə·hay·yā·mîm yip·pə·lū kî niz·rōw ṭā·mêWLC · 12

Now this is the law of the Nazirite when his time of separation is complete: He must be brought to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,

𐤅𐤆𐤀𐤕 𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤕 𐤄𐤍𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤁𐤉𐤅𐤌 𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤀 𐤀𐤕𐤅 𐤀𐤋 𐤐𐤕𐤇 𐤀𐤄𐤋 𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤃

וְזֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הַנָּזִ֑יר בְּי֗וֹם יְמֵ֣י נִזְר֔וֹ מְלֹאת֙ יָבִ֣יא אֹת֔וֹ אֶל־ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ wə·zōṯ tō·w·raṯ han·nā·zîr bə·yō·wm yə·mê niz·rōw mə·lōṯ yā·ḇî ’ō·ṯōw ’el- pe·ṯaḥ ’ō·hel mō·w·‘êḏWLC · 13

and he is to present an offering to the LORD of an unblemished year-old… male lamb as a burnt offering, an unblemished year-old… female lamb as a sin offering, and an unblemished ram as a peace offering—

𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤀𐤕 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤅 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤍 𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤅 𐤊𐤁𐤔 𐤋𐤏𐤋𐤄 𐤀𐤇𐤕 𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤌𐤄 𐤁𐤕 𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤄 𐤅𐤊𐤁𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤕 𐤀𐤇𐤃 𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤋 𐤋𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌

וְהִקְרִ֣יב אֶת־ קָרְבָּנ֣וֹ לַיהוָ֡ה אֶחָד֙ תָמִ֤ים בֶּן־ שְׁנָת֨וֹ כֶּבֶשׂ֩ לְעֹלָ֔ה אַחַ֧ת תְּמִימָ֖ה בַּת־ שְׁנָתָ֛הּ וְכַבְשָׂ֨ה לְחַטָּ֑את אֶחָ֥ד תָּמִ֖ים וְאַֽיִל־ לִשְׁלָמִֽים׃ wə·hiq·rîḇ ’eṯ- qā·rə·bā·nōw Yah·weh ’e·ḥāḏ ṯā·mîm ben- šə·nā·ṯōw ke·ḇeś lə·‘ō·lāh ’a·ḥaṯ tə·mî·māh baṯ- šə·nā·ṯāh wə·ḵaḇ·śāh lə·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ ’e·ḥāḏ tā·mîm wə·’a·yil- liš·lā·mîmWLC · 14

together with their grain offerings and drink offerings— and a basket of unleavened cakes made from fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened wafers coated with oil.

𐤅𐤌𐤍𐤇𐤕𐤌 𐤅𐤍𐤎𐤊𐤉𐤄𐤌 𐤅𐤎𐤋 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕 𐤇𐤋𐤕 𐤎𐤋𐤕 𐤁𐤋𐤅𐤋𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍 𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕 𐤅𐤓𐤒𐤉𐤒𐤉 𐤌𐤔𐤇𐤉𐤌 𐤁𐤔𐤌𐤍

וּמִנְחָתָ֖ם וְנִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃ וְסַ֣ל מַצּ֗וֹת חַלֹּת֙ סֹ֤לֶת בְּלוּלֹ֣ת בַּשֶּׁ֔מֶן מַצּ֖וֹת וּרְקִיקֵ֥י מְשֻׁחִ֣ים בַּשָּׁ֑מֶן ū·min·ḥā·ṯām wə·nis·kê·hem wə·sal maṣ·ṣō·wṯ ḥal·lōṯ sō·leṯ bə·lū·lōṯ baš·še·men maṣ·ṣō·wṯ ū·rə·qî·qê mə·šu·ḥîm baš·šā·menWLC · 15

The priest is to present all these before the LORD and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.

𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤀𐤕 𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤕𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤏𐤋𐤕𐤅

הַכֹּהֵ֖ן וְהִקְרִ֥יב לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְעָשָׂ֥ה אֶת־ חַטָּאת֖וֹ וְאֶת־ עֹלָתֽוֹ׃ hak·kō·hên wə·hiq·rîḇ lip̄·nê Yah·weh wə·‘ā·śāh ’eṯ- ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw wə·’eṯ- ‘ō·lā·ṯōwWLC · 16

  • He shall also offer the ram vvv as a peace offering to the LORD, along with the basket of unleavened bread. And the priest is to offer the accompanying grain offering and drink offering.

𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤋 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌 𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤏𐤋 𐤎𐤋 𐤄𐤌𐤑𐤅𐤕 𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍 𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤌𐤍𐤇𐤕𐤅 𐤅𐤀𐤕 𐤍𐤎𐤊𐤅

וְאֶת־ יַעֲשֶׂ֨ה הָאַ֜יִל זֶ֤בַח שְׁלָמִים֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה עַ֖ל סַ֣ל הַמַּצּ֑וֹת הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֶת־ וְעָשָׂה֙ מִנְחָת֖וֹ וְאֶת־ נִסְכּֽוֹ׃ wə·’eṯ- ya·‘ă·śeh hā·’a·yil ze·ḇaḥ šə·lā·mîm Yah·weh ‘al sal ham·maṣ·ṣō·wṯ hak·kō·hên ’eṯ- wə·‘ā·śāh min·ḥā·ṯōw wə·’eṯ- nis·kōwWLC · 17

Then at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, the Nazirite is to shave his consecrated head -, take the hair -, and put it on the fire under vvv the peace offering.

𐤐𐤕𐤇 𐤀𐤄𐤋 𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤃 𐤄𐤍𐤆𐤉𐤓 𐤅𐤂𐤋𐤇 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤓𐤀𐤔 𐤀𐤕 𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇 𐤀𐤕 𐤔𐤏𐤓 𐤓𐤀𐤔 𐤍𐤆𐤓𐤅 𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤍 𐤏𐤋 𐤄𐤀𐤔 𐤀𐤔𐤓 𐤕𐤇𐤕 𐤆𐤁𐤇 𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤌

פֶּ֛תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד הַנָּזִ֗יר וְגִלַּ֣ח נִזְר֑וֹ רֹ֣אשׁ אֶת־ וְלָקַ֗ח אֶת־ שְׂעַר֙ רֹ֣אשׁ נִזְר֔וֹ וְנָתַן֙ עַל־ הָאֵ֔שׁ אֲשֶׁר־ תַּ֖חַת זֶ֥בַח הַשְּׁלָמִֽים׃ pe·ṯaḥ ’ō·hel mō·w·‘êḏ han·nā·zîr wə·ḡil·laḥ niz·rōw rōš ’eṯ- wə·lā·qaḥ ’eṯ- śə·‘ar rōš niz·rōw wə·nā·ṯan ‘al- hā·’êš ’ă·šer- ta·ḥaṯ ze·ḇaḥ haš·šə·lā·mîmWLC · 18

And the priest is to take the boiled shoulder from the ram, one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them into the hands of the Nazirite who has just shaved [the hair of] his consecration.

הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶת־ וְלָקַ֨ח בְּשֵׁלָה֮ הַזְּרֹ֣עַ מִן־ הָאַיִל֒ אַחַת֙ מַצָּ֤ה וְֽחַלַּ֨ת מִן־ הַסַּ֔ל אֶחָ֑ד מַצָּ֖ה וּרְקִ֥יק וְנָתַן֙ עַל־ כַּפֵּ֣י הַנָּזִ֔יר אַחַ֖ר הִֽתְגַּלְּח֥וֹ אֶת־ נִזְרֽוֹ׃ hak·kō·hên ’eṯ- wə·lā·qaḥ bə·šê·lāh haz·zə·rō·a‘ min- hā·’a·yil ’a·ḥaṯ maṣ·ṣāh wə·ḥal·laṯ min- has·sal ’e·ḥāḏ maṣ·ṣāh ū·rə·qîq wə·nā·ṯan ‘al- kap·pê han·nā·zîr ’a·ḥar hiṯ·gal·lə·ḥōw ’eṯ- niz·rōwWLC · 19

The priest shall then wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. This is a holy portion for the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering… and the thigh that was presented. After that, the Nazirite may drink wine.

הַכֹּהֵ֥ן׀ וְהֵנִיף֩ אוֹתָ֨ם תְּנוּפָה֮ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ הוּא֙ קֹ֤דֶשׁ לַכֹּהֵ֔ן עַ֚ל חֲזֵ֣ה הַתְּנוּפָ֔ה וְעַ֖ל שׁ֣וֹק הַתְּרוּמָ֑ה וְאַחַ֛ר הַנָּזִ֖יר יִשְׁתֶּ֥ה יָֽיִן׃ hak·kō·hên wə·hê·nîp̄ ’ō·w·ṯām tə·nū·p̄āh lip̄·nê Yah·weh hū qō·ḏeš lak·kō·hên ‘al ḥă·zêh hat·tə·nū·p̄āh wə·‘al šō·wq hat·tə·rū·māh wə·’a·ḥar han·nā·zîr yiš·teh yā·yinWLC · 20

This [is] the law of the Nazirite who vows his offering to the LORD for his separation, in addition to whatever else he can afford…;… he must fulfill whatever vow he makes, vvv according to the law of his separation.”

Then the LORD said to Moses…,

יְהוָ֖ה וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ Yah·weh way·ḏab·bêr ’el- mō·šeh lê·mōrWLC · 22

“Tell… Aaron… and his sons: This is how you are to bless the Israelites… Say to them:

‘May the LORD bless you and keep you;

יְהוָ֖ה יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ וְיִשְׁמְרֶֽךָ׃ס Yah·weh yə·ḇā·reḵ·ḵā wə·yiš·mə·re·ḵāWLC · 24

may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’

So they shall put My name on the Israelites…, and I will bless them.”
