Chapter 28
The Daily Offerings

𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 𐤀𐤋 𐤌𐤔𐤄 𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓
יְהוָ֖ה וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ Yah·weh way·ḏab·bêr ’el- mō·šeh lê·mōr — WLC · 1

“Command the Israelites… and say to them -: See that you present to Me at its appointed time the food vvv for My food offerings, as a pleasing aroma to Me.
𐤑𐤅 𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤌 𐤀𐤕 𐤕𐤔𐤌𐤓𐤅 𐤋𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤉𐤁 𐤋𐤉 𐤁𐤌𐤅𐤏𐤃𐤅 𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤉 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤉 𐤋𐤀𐤔𐤉 𐤍𐤉𐤇𐤇𐤉 𐤓𐤉𐤇
צַ֚ו אֶת־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אֶת־ תִּשְׁמְר֕וּ לְהַקְרִ֥יב לִ֖י בְּמוֹעֲדֽוֹ׃ לַחְמִ֜י קָרְבָּנִ֨י לְאִשַּׁ֗י נִֽיחֹחִ֔י רֵ֚יחַ ṣaw ’eṯ- bə·nê yiś·rā·’êl wə·’ā·mar·tā ’ă·lê·hem ’eṯ- tiš·mə·rū lə·haq·rîḇ lî bə·mō·w·‘ă·ḏōw laḥ·mî qā·rə·bā·nî lə·’iš·šay nî·ḥō·ḥî rê·aḥ — WLC · 2

And tell them [that] this [is] the food offering you are to present to the LORD as a regular burnt offering each day: two unblemished year-old… male lambs.

- Offer one lamb in the morning and the other… at twilight,

אֶת־ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶחָ֖ד הַכֶּ֥בֶשׂ בַבֹּ֑קֶר וְאֵת֙ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה הַכֶּ֣בֶשׂ בֵּ֥ין הָֽעַרְבָּֽיִם׃ ’eṯ- ta·‘ă·śeh ’e·ḥāḏ hak·ke·ḇeś ḇab·bō·qer wə·’êṯ haš·šê·nî ta·‘ă·śeh hak·ke·ḇeś bên hā·‘ar·bā·yim — WLC · 4

along with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with a quarter hin of oil from pressed [olives].

וַעֲשִׂירִ֧ית הָאֵיפָ֛ה סֹ֖לֶת לְמִנְחָ֑ה בְּלוּלָ֛ה רְבִיעִ֥ת הַהִֽין׃ בְּשֶׁ֥מֶן כָּתִ֖ית wa·‘ă·śî·rîṯ hā·’ê·p̄āh sō·leṯ lə·min·ḥāh bə·lū·lāh rə·ḇî·‘iṯ ha·hîn bə·še·men kā·ṯîṯ — WLC · 5

This is a regular burnt offering established at Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.

תָּמִ֑יד עֹלַ֖ת הָעֲשֻׂיָה֙ בְּהַ֣ר סִינַ֔י נִיחֹ֔חַ לְרֵ֣יחַ אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃ tā·mîḏ ‘ō·laṯ hā·‘ă·śu·yāh bə·har sî·nay nî·ḥō·aḥ lə·rê·aḥ ’iš·šeh Yah·weh — WLC · 6

The drink offering accompanying each lamb [shall be] a quarter hin. Pour out the offering of fermented drink to the LORD in the sanctuary area.

וְנִסְכּוֹ֙ הָאֶחָ֑ד לַכֶּ֖בֶשׂ רְבִיעִ֣ת הַהִ֔ין הַסֵּ֛ךְ נֶ֥סֶךְ שֵׁכָ֖ר לַיהוָֽה׃ בַּקֹּ֗דֶשׁ wə·nis·kōw hā·’e·ḥāḏ lak·ke·ḇeś rə·ḇî·‘iṯ ha·hîn has·sêḵ ne·seḵ šê·ḵār Yah·weh baq·qō·ḏeš — WLC · 7

And offer the second lamb at twilight, with the same grain offering and drink offering… as in the morning. It is a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

The Sabbath Offerings

On the Sabbath day, present two unblemished year-old… male lambs, accompanied by a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah… of fine flour mixed with oil, as well as a drink offering.

This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath,… in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.

The Monthly Offerings

At the beginning of every month, you are to present to the LORD a burnt offering of two young… bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old…, all unblemished,

Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine with each bull, a third of a hin with the ram, and a quarter hin with each lamb. This is the monthly burnt offering to be made at each new moon… throughout the year.

In addition to the regular burnt offering with its drink offering, one male goat… is to be presented to the LORD as a sin offering.

Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread

The fourteenth… day of the first month is the LORD’s Passover.

On the fifteenth… day of this month, there shall be a feast; for seven days unleavened bread is to be eaten.

On the first day there is to be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work…

וְהִקְרַבְתֶּ֨ם לַֽיהוָ֔ה אִשֶּׁ֤ה עֹלָה֙ שְׁנַ֖יִם בְּנֵי־ בָקָ֛ר פָּרִ֧ים אֶחָ֑ד וְאַ֣יִל וְשִׁבְעָ֤ה כְבָשִׂים֙ בְּנֵ֣י שָׁנָ֔ה יִהְי֥וּ לָכֶֽם׃ תְּמִימִ֖ם wə·hiq·raḇ·tem Yah·weh ’iš·šeh ‘ō·lāh šə·na·yim bə·nê- ḇā·qār pā·rîm ’e·ḥāḏ wə·’a·yil wə·šiḇ·‘āh ḵə·ḇā·śîm bə·nê šā·nāh yih·yū lā·ḵem tə·mî·mim — WLC · 19

The grain offering shall consist of fine flour mixed with oil; offer three-tenths [of an ephah]… with each bull, two-tenths [of an ephah]… with the ram,
